  1. You seem to have a strong case. My lawyer wasn’t on top of everything either. After realizing that few things were missed, I had to be assertive they include all evidence AND i did insist that i review the forms/evidence/supporting documents being sent to USCIS before it is mailed out. I would regather everything and zip it together so all documents are in place and nothing is mossed. . Email it to lawyer and please make sure you review what is being sent.
  2. Saiyyen - if your family or friends are aware of abuse it might strengthen your case to send letters from them describing what they know about your suffering
  3. It was pretty easy. Shared my experience above 😊
  4. I had uploaded marriage, divorce certificates, tax returns, birth certificate, LPR copy with the application Since i did not have proof of ex-spouse’s immigration status i uploaded a letter requesting USCIS to look up status based on Alien number Officer first placed me under oath. Asked for GC, DL, tax returns. Interview was very simple. Civics questions, reading and writing test. N 400 questions. At the end she gave me a letter and mentioned i was approved and that i will get invitation for oath ceremony. Overall it was a smooth experience. My advice would be to upload all relevant documents online and take originals to the interview. Best part was that no VAWA questions were asked 😊
  5. I just uploaded a document with my request providing ex-spouse information. And it seemed to have worked
  6. Thank you. I got oath ceremony invite on following day 😊
  7. This information may help as well. With my N400 application, i requested USCIS to lookup ex-spouse's immigration status and provided ex-spouse's SSN, Alien Number, Fathers name, Mothers name, Place of Birth, Date of birth. Apparently officer was able to look up information and hence no questions were asked to me! i was actually so relieved that no questions related to VAWA or ex-spouse were asked! 🙏
  8. No, officer did not ask about ex-spouse’s immigration status proof i was not asked to show passport either. Just LPR Card, DL, tax statements
  9. Hi All, here is my Timeline Applied N-400 online - Feb 10th 2024 Location - Dallas TX Interview - 14th May 2024 Online status - Interview scheduled (still) Any idea when online status reflects approval? Im eagerly waiting for oath ceremony invitation as well.
  10. @Shroy123 i had my interview today! There were no questions on providing proof for ex-spouse immigration. Looks like USCIS was able to look it up using their Alien number. Thank you for your help here.
  11. Hi everyone, i finished my N400 interview today, and officer gave me a letter saying i was approved. Now, eagerly waiting for online application status to reflect approval followed by oath ceremony invitation. No VAWA questions were asked. It was just questions on N400 form. The officer verified greencard, Drivers permit, tax returns for last 2 years. That was pretty much it. Being a survivor of abuse can take away a lot from your life. But please hang in there and always work for making a better life. Its not easy, but i believe it is worth the struggle. Hope you all find love and peace in your life ❤️
