I recently became a U.S. citizen, and I'm now looking into the possibility of sponsoring my family to join me here. I have two separate, yet equally important concerns, and any guidance or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
*Firstly*, I want to apply for green cards for my parents who are currently not in the USA. I understand that as immediate relatives of a U.S. citizen, the process might be more straightforward for them, but I'm curious about any challenges I might face, particularly with the current processing times and the best way to approach this.
*Secondly*, and this is a bit more complex, my brother is turning 21 in 10 months. I've read about the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) but am trying to understand if there's a way to ensure he can come here as well. Given the cap on visas for siblings, I'm worried about the potential waiting time and whether there's anything I can do to expedite the process.
I've also been considering whether there are any expedited processing options available for either case that might be applicable due to our family circumstances. Does anyone have experience with expediting family-based visa applications? What kind of evidence or reasoning did you provide, and how successful was it?
Any advice, links to resources, or personal stories about navigating the immigration process for parents and siblings would be incredibly helpful. I want to ensure I'm taking the best steps forward for my family.
