  1. even though we haven't heard anything yet i know for my own piece of mind we took out all the staples and reassembled it like it was new. so we knew for sure that all of the evidence and stuff was still there the chances of the same person looking at your packet twice are probably pretty slim and you could just annoy the next person if its not organized lol
  2. it is a very silly difference i'm sorry it happened to you but i hope it doesn't happen to us 😭
  3. hmm... interesting.. might be better to just wait and see could be one of those "depends on the person adjudicating it" things. maybe just fill out the forms again and have them printed and ready to go in case it does come back that is probably what we are going to do
  4. do you have a copy of your first filing? the one that was accepted but then the payment didn't work? I wonder if you selected "spouse of us citizen" on that one as well?
  5. even if your i-129f expires, the officer conducting the interview can extend the validity of the acceptance at the time of the interview, so don't stress too much about that. @Edward and Jaycel went through the manila embassy, they may have more insight on whether the welcome letter is needed.
  6. you don't send the whole package again. what you should send back (in this order): 1. Original RFIE (the letter you received) 2. a RFIE cover letter (including the petitioner's name, as well as the receipt number from your NOA1) stating what your response includes. this isn't mandatory but it is better to include as it has your receipt number on it and it will be easier for the person at USCIS to attach it to your case. 3. the requested response (this should be just the form they sent you)
  7. that just sounds like a system glitch
  8. i checked ours as well (thankfully the filled out form is saved on my computer) we also checked the "spouse of us citizen" box... guess we're gonna be expecting to have to refile again 😭
  9. ahh ok, so it'll probably show up in the mail in a few days. once you get that you'll know what they are expecting. which is probably something like proof of meeting within the 2 years or the letter of intent to marry. as for the finances, you have time to find a joint sponsor. unless the petitioner is able to get a full time job (again, i know that would be difficult in their situation) a joint sponsor may be the only choice they should be able to tell, US passport pages look different than other countries passport pages. you can also put the scanned image of the passport stamps in a word doc and write exactly what it is.
  10. when did you learn about the RFIE? you should wait until you receive that in the mail. so you know for sure what it is they are asking for... finances don't really come into play for the I-129f/K1 visa until the actual K-1 visa interview. which can be over a year after the original I-129f is submitted. not to be harsh but honestly the petitioner would be better off trying to find a better paying job. which i know is hard right now
  11. you would be better off getting a joint sponsor your fiance can't get a SSN until they have arrived in the US using their K1 visa. and an ITIN (if its even possible, im not sure that it is) could take longer than what the RFIE allows for. you don't know what the RFIE is for?
  12. ahh ok, above you said you hadn't paid yet. then it is greyed out so you don't accidentally pay the fee again. the $265 is all you had to pay for the visa. you are in the right place as far as scheduling the interview appointment. but there just aren't any slots available. you will just have to keep checking.
  13. i didn't list any assets (i only have a car, but still) if you make the 100% of the poverty line, you'll be fine. the only things they will more than likely ask for are your tax return transcripts, W2, pay stubs, and/or an employment authorization letter. assets are really only needed if you can't prove you make more than the poverty line
  14. you more than likely won't be able to pay the visa fee until there are interview slots are available. that is probably why that section is currently greyed out. someone who has interviewed at manila recently will probably know for sure if that is the case. youre able to login without paying specifically so you can check for available interview slots. you will just have to keep checking for available slots. i believe i read somewhere people checking in the middle of the night and getting lucky that slots have opened.
  15. if you mean for a K1 visa, questions vary but will probably be something like "when are you getting married? Do you understand the you have to get married in 90 days? what is your partners name?" things like that and other than your passport the only documents you give to the CBP officer is the sealed yellow envelope you received from the embassy when they sent back your passport.
  16. the case number will be the same on the K1-FTP. I remember some time last year reading that some embassies request cases to be sent to them versus the NVC just sending them automatically. i'm not 100% sure if that is accurate, but if it is, it could be that situation. since it is still at the NVC, i would think you could try contacting the embassy itself and see if they have any idea. other wise it may just be a sit an wait unfortunately
  17. yes we contacted the NVC when the date for their processing times updated to after our case was there. they were able to provide us the case number, and basically attached a copy of the K1-FTP to that email.
  18. my husband (then fiance) didn't receive the K1-FTP letter until almost a month after our case had already been at the embassy in Germany. sometimes getting that letter is incredibly slow.
  19. Oh no, not for the k-1 Our whole bout of being long distance lasted 4 years. To get the k-1 took about 11 months
  20. My husband (then fiance) and I spent 4 years apart before he came here on a K-1 visa. We were only able to visit in person maybe twice a year if we were lucky. It definitely sucked but we would call everyday, watch movies and TV shows together (discord is great for that) and it really helped make it seem easier. But let me tell you, the wait was 100% worth it.
  21. they are referring to the CR1/IR1 visa, also called the spousal visa it is different than the K1 visa as in order to file for it, you have to marry your partner first you can read about it here https://www.visajourney.com/ir1-spouse-visa-overview/ *criminal history of the USC is usually irrelevant for the spousal visa unless the conviction/charge falls under the Adam Walsh Act (aka sex crime against a child). There is no requirement that the petitioner disclose their criminal history as any part of a CR1 case
  22. are you able to fill out the form on a computer? using something like adobe acrobat? that would be better honestly, that way everything is legible. if theres any boxes that you can't fill out on a computer, you can hand write them in. but you shouldn't use like whiteout or anything to make corrections
  23. yes you do when you eventually fill out the I-134, both the sponsor (your fiance) and the co-sponsor (her father) fill out separate I-134s
  24. the only way of knowing would be to contact the civil surgeon in the US and show him the corrected vaccine paper and see if he will accept it
  25. unfortunately more than likely not you will need at least the vaccine portion of the I-693 filled out and sent along with your AOS packet
