  1. https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/home you can request the most recent I-94 here just print it out and youre good
  2. i submitted the certified copies but ive read people just make copies OF the certified copy and submit those and have been fine.
  3. ive noticed that as well i think they just add a day to whatever day you mailed it. our most recent was mailed on 2/5 and the notification was dated they received it on 2/6, but it didn't even get delivered until 2/7 lol
  4. thats what happened with ours my husband got an email that something was in the package locker, but nothing showed on our informed delivery. he thought it was just an extra notification from something I ordered. my thought is if the envelope is too thick/big it doesn't get scanned for informed delivery.
  5. if i were you I would just use the new one. save yourself the hassle of potentially getting another rejection for using the wrong form. plus they would only accept the old form if it was post marked before feb 10th. and we are well past that. since your case was never officially created, i don't think they would give you a pass on that.
  6. if there was a rejection letter it should say but more than likely yes
  7. yea thats true just a suggestion in case they wanted to get it all done sooner rather than later lol i know i would
  8. how much time did they give you to respond to the RFE? you could try going to your local SSO and see if they can tell it to you verbally.
  9. the sealed envelope that you surrender at your POE? nothing in the envelope is given back to you. they will stamp you passport and return that back to you, but that is it.
  10. it is recommended to include a cover letter including the applicants name as well as the case number makes it easier for them to attach it to your case file.
  11. I wanna hope so But I'm more of a "expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised when it works out" kinda person hahah 😂
  12. Well unexpected update Despite knowing for sure that we picked the wrong choice, my husband got a text from USCIS saying they received it And I have pending check withdrawals for tomorrow showing in my bank account So now I'm just worried this is somehow gonna come back and bite us in the butt later lol
  13. the letter from the employer isn't 100% needed. its just something extra to have. but it should state your title, whether you are full time/part time, your salary, and your start date. Ideally it would be on business stationary and signed. you can find a list of things to bring to the interview here https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Peru&cty=Lima
  14. we used the old version of the forms, that was the only reason. we actually had this question marked correctly on the old forms, but missed it on the new one lol even though the USCIS website said they would accept the old forms if they were post marked before february 10th
  15. we filled out a whole new I-485 and just reused our evidence as well. however we are expecting another rejection cause we did the same thing this time around and marked the wrong thing as well lol
  16. on your I-485 on page 5 part 2 section 3.a which option did you pick? cause it should have been the 4th one if you picked the first one, which is technically true, it is incorrect for USCIS. someone else got the same rejection and this was the reason
  17. NVC hasn't been accepting calls for a long time the only way to contact them really is with the public inquiry form
  18. technically you can fill out and submit the DS-160 whenever, it is valid for 1 year after submitting. just make sure you print out the confirmation page as you will need to bring it o the interview and (possibly) the medical exam. the letter that the beneficiary should be getting from the embassy (also called packet 3) should tell you how to do the DS-160, how and when to schedule the medical exam, how and when to schedule the interview, and what documents need to be brought to the interview. you could also try emailing the consulate to try and get that information. this is the email they have listed Canada.Visas@gdit-gss.com
  19. i know i preferred the old one lol thats why i was mad they returned it even though they were supposed to accept it if it was before feb. 10th 😂
  20. yes USCIS sends the approved petition to the NVC on a certain schedule doesn't matter what embassy it will eventually end up at.
  21. i found another difference between the old I-485 that i feel like leads to the confusion on the question from above. on the old form this is how the first few options look it specifically references form I-130 on the new one, it doesn't put the form number next to its relevant filing status. just at the beginning if it still did have the form number next to each, i bet there would have been far less of a chance that we all would have picked the wrong one. obviously nothing can be done about it now, but still
  22. even though we haven't heard anything yet i know for my own piece of mind we took out all the staples and reassembled it like it was new. so we knew for sure that all of the evidence and stuff was still there the chances of the same person looking at your packet twice are probably pretty slim and you could just annoy the next person if its not organized lol
  23. it is a very silly difference i'm sorry it happened to you but i hope it doesn't happen to us 😭
  24. hmm... interesting.. might be better to just wait and see could be one of those "depends on the person adjudicating it" things. maybe just fill out the forms again and have them printed and ready to go in case it does come back that is probably what we are going to do
