  1. There is no need to redact any information. Especially his passport number. That information is part of what they use to make sure he is a citizen of where he says he is and various other things. I don't see an issue with blocking out part of the bank account numbers. Since USCIS doesn't need to know you financial status at this point It's better to prpvide as much as you can
  2. you would need to contact the embassy your case was supposed to go to. confirm with them they have the case and what your next steps are meant to be to schedule your interview and medical. The embassy can extend the validity of your case, but it is up to them to do that.
  3. we waited 2 weeks before submitting an inquiry to the NVC to get our case number. Our case was updated to "sent to DOS" on march 12, and I reached out to the NVC on the march 25 and got a response the next day with our case number. Some cases USCIS still sends through the actual mail to the NVC and not electronically, I'm honestly not sure how they send I-129f petitions. So if you were to reach out sooner, they might not have it yet. I would say still wait until the 23rd to reach out to them. Even if you did get the case number now, you still have to wait for the NVC to send your case onto the embassy in the UK. which can still take a month or so, it depends on the embassy. the case number gives you the ability to track your case through the CEAC. I know july seems like a long wait, but you still have to gather the remaining documents that are brought to the interview and there is still the medical that the beneficiary has to go to. July is only a month and a half away and that is honestly not too bad. But if your case was only sent to the DOS on friday, theres a good chance the interview wont be until august maybe even septmeber. And again, i know that seems like a long time from now. But even that is in less than 3 months. trust me now is just more waiting, there is not much you can do while your case is being sent between USCIS, NVC, and the embassy other than gathering the documents you need for the interview.
  4. I would think they would take issue with it because you are still under age. even with parental consent. Like i said, you may still be able to get by with the consent forms, but the process might take longer. sponsoring a visa is not a simple thing. There's a lot of rules that go along with it. It might be worth contacting USCIS directly so see if there is an issue with you filing an I-129f at 17. I don't think its very common to be that young filing this kind of visa petition, as there is not a lot of information about it. The only thing I could find that says other wise, it filling out an affidavit of support (I-864), where you have to be at least 18 to file it, even with a joint sponsor. But that form doesn't come until after the K-1 visa process is complete.
  5. i don't think the longer packet will cause a longer wait time. Regardless of parental consent USCIS might take longer because of your age, since the legal age to marry in every state except 2 is 18. "Both the U.S. citizen and the K-1 visa applicant must have been legally free to marry at the time the petition was filed and must have remained so thereafter. The marriage must be legally possible according to laws of the U.S. state in which the marriage will take place." https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html you may be able to get around that with the parental consent, but USCIS might still take issue with it. Not sure when you turn 18, but you might be better off waiting until then so you don't waste money or time.
  6. typically the NOA2 gets mailed out the same day it was approved. the USCIS site will update to "sent to DOS" not too long after. for example mine updated to "sent to DOS" 6 days after it was approved by USCIS. I believe I received the NOA2 sometime in between when it was approved and when it was sent to DOS. I believe USCIS only sends batches of petitions to DOS twice a month. USCIS is usually pretty good about sending out the NOAs, so I wouldn't be to worried
  7. I don't believe there was a specific letter that needed to be brought to the interview. There was the letter explaining what needed to be brought/how to submit the ds-160 confirmation, a copy of the approved i-129f, and a form to fill out of all previous addresses from the age of 16. And a domestic violence information pamphlet
  8. USCIS sends your approved petition to the NVC. The NVC will then create a case number and forward your case to the embassy in the beneficiary's country. the beneficiary should receive a letter from the NVC with the case number. once the embassy is processes the petition they will send a letter, also sometimes called packet 3, to the beneficiary with more information about what is needed to schedule the interview. you more than likely still have a few months before the interview will be scheduled.
  9. 1. they may not accept it if it is not signed. technically anyone who works in payroll can sign it. 2. you can provide an unsigned one if it is on some sort of bank stationary (i.e has their logo), but again they may not include it in your proof. but you could still provide it. 3. you want at least 3 years of tax returns. 4. if you cant get a signature for the employment letter, multiple W2s from the previous years should be good. as well as several paystubs. I believe I provided 3 months of paystubs (6 total since i get paid bi-weekly). 5. yes you do. you need to show proof that the income you list on the I-134 is legal and accurate. for example, you cant say you make 200k per year without the documents to back that up.
  10. as someone who also used boundless that timeline they give you is just an estimation. They make it out as far as possible to basically not get peoples hopes up and potentially sued for false advertising. for example, my fiances K-1 interview is scheduled for this coming july. But boundless still says the estimated approval is June 2025. When did you submit your I-129f? what stage of the process are you in? you should fill out your timeline on here. that way you can compare your timeline to those going through the same embassy. USCIS processing for K-1s has sped up significantly. some who have submitted in january 2024 are already receiving responses from USCIS. the site trackmyvisanow is also very accurate. you'd get more accurate processing timelines from VJ or trackmyvisanow (which does have to be paid for monthly, but you get a few days free and the subscription automatically cancels once the I-129f gets approved)
  11. I misread what you were saying i was thinking something else yes UK stadnards my mistake
  12. the passport photos have to be new either within 6 months or within 3 months. cant remember which either way they have to be new and in accordance with the US passport photo standards
  13. that is the correct email the frankfurt embassy has a google form they use that tells you what to put in the subject line of the email, so it gets to the right place https://tinyurl.com/FrankfurtVisas (if you use this form, make sure you pick the option for immigrant visa. it does make a difference for what goes in the subject line and body of the email) when my fiance emailed them about getting the information from the packet 3 letter just emailed to him, they told him to wait until he received the physical letter. But if you explain to them you believe it got lost in the mail, they might email it to you. the DS-160 is good for a year after filling it out and submitting it. so you could technically fill it out and submit it now. but I would try emailing them for the packet 3 info first before emailing them the DS-160 confirmation. As my fiance likes to say, people in Germany like their paperwork, so they probably want things to go in order 🤣
  14. you can get copies of your I-94s from the CBP website https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home those would replace the passport stamps when it comes to evidence you've been to the US legally
  15. you could try contacting the frankfurt embassy via email and explain the situation they may be able to email you what the packet contained (which if i remember correctly was just a letter saying to complete/submit the ds-160, pay the visa fee, a previous address form to fill out, and a copy of the approved I-129f. it also had some instructions as far as what to bring to the interview.) or they may ask you to wait another day or so to see if it will show up. or you could try contacting whichever postal service was delivering it and see if it is something you can go pick up from one of their locations.
  16. you would more than likely need a letter from a therapist or psychologist. Maybe those GPs had more experience in mental health where they felt they could write those letters
  17. not sure if theres problems with rescheduling for a 3rd time. but this is the link for their contact form from the embassy website https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/iv-contact_form/ this is your best bet than trying to find a direct email address
  18. 1. I would say still bring it. Even if its not on the list its better to be over prepared then under prepared. It doesn't hurt to have it even if they dont ask for it. 2. Definitely only offer it if it is asked for. No reason to offer it if they dont ask for it. 3. the letter from the employer for the affidavit is only one of the recommended pieces of evidence. you can usually get by with just 3 years worth of tax returns, W2s, and/or a letter from the bank showing what is currently available in your account(s). But the letter is something you'd normally get from HR. But since you've already been informed of being laid off, they might not give you one.
  19. no problem on the right side of that site theres a box that says "whos involved" it does say that the applicant may also be referred as a beneficiary in petition based visas. which the K-1 visa is petition based.
  20. only the foreign fiance needs to obtain police certificates. background checks for the USC fiance are done by USCIS via their SSN
  21. USCIS processing times for I-129fs has sped up significantly. Last I heard they were working on cases submitted december 2023 and january 2024. your case still has to go to the NVC, where it can sometimes sit for a month or 2. And then onto whichever embassy/consulate the beneficiary would go to. And that could add time to the process depending on the consulate. some consulates the wait time for a K-1 visa interview can be long. depending on how many they get.
  22. I couldn't find anything on if the petition gets scanned into the system or not if it does just get rejected for the lack of filing fee, they should just send your application back to you with the reasoning of why it was rejected
  23. you can attempt to withdraw the petition by contacting USCIS. but pretty sure it would make filing it again in the future more difficult.
  24. USCIS tends to jump around a lot when going through their backlog. So they might not do the entirety of petitions filed in november at the same time. for my fiance and I, we did a lot of talking about future plans and such while we were waiting. Not sure if it helped but it definitely made the time go by lol we also had him come visit while waiting to hear anything, that helped quite a bit.
