  1. I used the courier service. I can't recall if when I first signed up (when I had the interview), I paid for something expedited, but yes Im pretty sure it was: Day 0: Issued Day 1: Receive email saying passport was shipped Day 2: Tracking number said passport is at local post office. I'm in the GTA area.
  2. We finally got our passport in hand. Wanted to recap the journey since I found it very helpful when other people did: Here is our IR5 timeline: March 15: interview, received 221g with a link to the ds-5535 March 18: ds-5535 submitted March 21-31st: 3 unsolicited updates August 24 - Sep 8th: 3 unsolicited updates Oct 1: Contacted representative. Oct 8: unsolicited update Oct 10: Representative forwarded email saying to send passport. Oct 20: Sent medical Oct 25: Sent passport + police record Oct 27: Update Nov 4: Update + Issued. Nov 5: Email about passport being delivered. Nov 6: Passport in hand. Hope this helps!
  3. Is this 1 week, since your tracker from AIS said delivered? Did you have any other updates in between?
  4. What does "Hacking" mean. Did you file WOM by yourself?
  5. That's such fast timeline. Congrats Luke and thanks for giving hope to folks! My interview was in March and got 3 updates recently (July 31st, Aug8th, Aug 9th), but unfortunately no update after that 😕 Was getting my hopes up.
  6. FWIW, I don't think anyone knows, including the people in charge. This type of system is a typical AI problem, where you put in a bunch of data with known "bad actors" and try to predict the next bad actor. Silly example: It could be that the system decides that people who's family name starts F and are born in August and are Canadian or Madagascarian of origin. are more likely to be bad actors, but fundamentally the system is as good as the person writing it and I doubt anyone has any way or incentive to make it better.
  7. Flagging this again. Please make your voice heard. The more we make noise the more likely this is to get attention and move. Most immigration applications have been shortening timelines, so it seems like the administration wants to shorten timelines, they probably just don't know this is a problem. Plz help send a comment to the administration per below. @Leo The Great @Sisa24 @CL23 @JanMontrealDS5535 @cala2023 @frhm @julia_29387 @Halioak @Gha @tas005 @yvesemma @ak47 @Phil_K_IR1 --- DOS seems to have opened an inquiry on DS 5535 in the last few weeks. I think this is a good sign. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2024/04/29/2024-09082/30-day-notice-of-proposed-information-collection-supplemental-questions-for-visa-applicants#:~:text=The DS-5535 solicits additional biographic information that, providing a copy of the questions electronically I am positive if enough of us complain about the process they may staff up more people or change the process altogether. 9. I think whenever someone opens your case, the "last updated timestamp" updates. So usually when you submit the DS 5535, there'll be a bunch of updates as they're doing something with your case. Every update thereafter is seen as a good sign that someone is actively working on your case, rather than it sitting on some queue, waiting to be touched. Of course this is all speculation as I don't know anything about what actually goes on, so YMMV
  10. Yeah that's usually a good sign that they're working on it 😊. Also for all us waiting, seeing 2 cases from November move, I wonder if that's "one of the queues" that they're processing. Gives hope that maybe it won't be 16 months wait 😮.
  11. Can you say more to give us on the queue hope? All I've seen is 2 cases in April from the sheet and silence in a few weeks.
  12. What inquiry is this reply responding to? I wonder if we can just keep emailing whatever email is doing the work to see if we can bring more attention to this issue. Squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say. Yvesemma would you mind putting your info in the sheet 🙏 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc
  13. Since this is Department of State, which is regulated by the executive branch (i.e. President), legislative branch help (i.e. representatives, senators), can't do anything about it. But POTUS or VPOTUS absolutely can! I would suggest everyone in this thread (+ their citizen sponsor) to send a message to https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ . Hopefully if we send enough messages, it'll be clear there's something to be done here.
  14. Congrats Daf_Cat! That's good news indeed! Mind sharing a recap of your journey when you get a chance? (Including how many countries travelled, which I think may be a factor?)
