  1. Hi everyone, I’m a conditional permanent resident (2-year green card holder) through marriage to a U.S. citizen. I'm applying for a re-entry permit using Form I-131 and just wanted to confirm the correct filing fee. As of April 1, 2024, USCIS lists the I-131 filing fee as $630 for a re-entry permit, and it states that biometrics are now included. Previously, it was $660 ($575 + $85). Can anyone confirm that $630 is now the total and correct fee for green card holders applying for a re-entry permit? Thanks in advance for your help!
  2. You might want to try submitting an expedite request through the USCIS online portal, especially if you're facing financial hardship. They may accept your request and prioritize getting your work permit to you within the next 2-3 weeks. Alternatively, you could reach out to your local congress representative for assistance. Wishing you the best of luck!
  3. Any approvals from those who filed in June 2024?
  4. Everything is pretty meaningless and random when the USCIS is concerned!
  5. All a waiting game unfortunately! As many continue to say, no news is good news once you have received your NOA. I am in the same boat, still waiting.....Keep your head up, each day is a day closer to this nonsense process being over!
  6. I would either Ask Emma via the online webchat, or contact the USCIS via telephone. The fact the USCIS has taken your money is a good sign that your package has been accepted.
  7. Sorry, just to clarify, the papers that I had filed were barcoded by the USCIS which means they had been reviewed in some capacity. You will most likely have to wait to receive the return of your package, sorry!
  8. Yet we were told the recent increase in filing fees would result in greater efficiencies, and faster processing times..........
  9. Roughly 5 working days. They had already coded, and scanned the paperwork into their system, so it was a case of the USCIS cashing the check and sending a receipt.
  10. My initial package was rejected due to Capital One believing USCIS request for payment was fraudulent. It took approx. 8 weeks for Chicago lockbox to return my package. Once received, I returned the package (UPS overnight delivery) using checks as opposed to credit card for payment method. I received my work permit two weeks later in the mail. Still waiting for my i-485 to be adjudicated on. Frustrating that I had to wait 8 weeks, however re-submitting application my push you further down the line, or cause confusion with USCIS who will assume you have two active applications.
  11. I was really lucky. Already having my social security number may have sped up the process. I have seen via this forum that some who filed in March 2024 have received their green cards. However, there is certainly no rhyme or rhythm to the process as each case is certainly different. Best of luck to all!
  12. I received my work permit card on 08/07/24. USCIS still actively reviewing my I-485 application.....no firm date or timescale on when it will be approved. Hope that you receive some positive news soon.
  13. Congratulations that's awesome! The update here has been really helpful, and at least gives the rest of us hope 😊. God bless and all the best with your new life in the States!
  14. For sure, I totally understand that I may have been one of the lucky ones. Hoping everybody else will have the same kind of luck 🙂
