  1. Glad to hear it's not just me. Doesn't hurt to try. I usually don't get anywhere with these guys but I'll give it a try, thanks.
  2. Yes, they were on different dates and I attended them both and brought each notice for each appointment respectively. Also, seems that both of those applications are in 2 different centers right now. I-485 is in Chicago and the i-765 is in the NBC. The i-765 was mailed to Chicago but I guess they re-routed it to the NBC.
  3. Hello, Thanks for replying. Short answer is I have 2 different letters with 2 different receipt numbers (1 for the i-485 and 1 for the i-765). Just to clarify that when I submitted both applications but the i-765 got originally rejected due to incorrect fees. I re-submitted it and it has an independent receipt number, biometrics appointment and letter. Regards.
  4. Hello, I know this is a long time due but basically we got married at the Tampa Hillsborough clerk office and were able to get our certificate on the spot. I don't know how it works in other counties/states but that's how it went for us just to share if anyone stumbles on this thread. Good luck to everyone!
  5. Hello, I've applied for my EAD whilst waiting for my i-485 to process. My i-485 is on "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS" status at the moment but my i-765 has been stuck on "Case was received" status for the last 77 days. I also attended the biometrics appointment for it. Is this normal? Regards.
  6. Thanks for the replies. We will check with the different offices responsible for these kind of things in different counties and see what they will tell us. The Miami thing sounds re-assuring since it's not so far from where we live.
  7. Thank you for that offer. I will keep it in mind. Vegas will be our last resort if we can't find alternative options. I am quite surprised. I cannot find any definitive information about this on Florida-related websites. So this is purely dependent on the speed of the county office and not the Bureau of Vital Statistics? Or who issued your marriage certificate in your case, do you know?
  8. Hello, I have a question regarding obtaining the marriage certificate in Florida. I have come to find out that it takes up to 60 days to process the marriage certificate in Florida, but that does not really work for my 90-day timeline in the US. They also do not have any expedite options. My question is, what are my options here? Would a Vegas marriage be a better substitute? Regards.
  9. Hello all, I am in an interesting situation at the moment. I am not living in my home country for the last couple of years, and I am about to apply for the k1 visa from my current country of residence (which I am not a citizen of/born here). My question is as follows.. Regarding my birth certificate and certificate of good conduct that I need to get from my home country, will the embassy in my current country of residence accept these documents? Do they need to be translated? Do they need to be notarized from the American embassy in my home country? Does anyone have experience with this? Basically, what steps do I need to take here in such a situation? I would really appreciate any first-hand experience here and advice. Thanks in advance!
