I remember you mentioned once you had travel planned for India. Just to inform you, I received india evisa also , it took around 12 hours for me. Renunciation and OCI will take a couple of months so its better to have something in hand for travel. I went with 5 year e-Visa. What are you travel dates ?

Its always on Friday in the parking lot. Its every other friday. Take today's date and keep adding 14 days for oath ceremony dates . If there is a long weekend ( skip that week. Atleast thats what I figured out from reddit.

I am officially a US Citizen now. Had my oath ceremony in the morning today at San Jose, CA . Got the naturalization certificate with the name updated. Received my passport as well in the afternoon from San Francisco Passport Agency ( no questions asked ). Thank you all for the help during this journey. My interview was scheduled for 12PM. I reached around 11.45 am. Waited for 40 mins and got called in around 12.25. Total interview lasted around 25 mins, starting with civics question followed by reading/writing. Then IO went over my application details / yes / no questions. I had a name change done through my local court, after i had filed n400 application, for which i provided him the court order of name change. He updated my name everywhere (computer/physical file in front of us)which took most of the time otherwise it would have been done in 10 mins only. In the end he congratulated me and told me that oath ceremony will be scheduled for Friday ( unless i want to delay it for any reason) . He asked me to wait in the waiting area to get the physical oath letter in hand itself. It took another 15 mins after the interview. Oath scheduled for friday morning. Online account got updated oath letter immediately. Let me know if you have any other specific questions. good luck:)

On U.S. Citizenship cases, USCIS has 120 days from the date of the interview to render a decision; when USCIS fails to do so, the law allows an applicant to seek judicial intervention by filing a 8 U.S.C. § 1447(b) lawsuit in Federal District Court. Keep your passport form filled up . Any destination in mexico can do. Book on 06/19 for flight date 06/21 or 06/22 . Passport appointment you can book 10 days before , so you can book on anytime 06/10 . If you dont wana fly , You can cancel the ticket 24 hours for full refund ( southwest policy ) . Other airlines have different cancellation policies. for us , Passport agency people just asked the travel dates, didnt even look at the reservation.

That is for SSN /DMV records. Passport you can apply same day, no problem.

Just FYI, Not that you need it , but in case you have already paid expedited 60$ fee , you can get passport/certificate whenever you want using below option . Plenty of appointments available.

Book the passport appointment as soon as you get oath ceremony date and time. You can apply passport same day of oath ceremony as well. ( if you need passport asap ) .

Yes, Flight ticket for next day (booked southwest : mexico). We paid 255$ total for both passport book + Passport card. Passport book we got same day . Card : 3 days later came in mail. They returned the original naturalization certificate also along with passport book same day. I have heard some horror stories of getting in delayed ( naturalization certificate ) in USPS so i wanted to make sure i get it back quickly. PS: U have to submit original naturalization certificate along with passport application.

San Francisco Passport Agency issue same day passports . We went for my wife passport , applied at 8AM and got the passport at 2PM. Assuming you live in SF.

USCIS is a black hole, Its very difficult to time. Best thing you can do now is wait. If the wait is more than 120 days , you can file WoM . Hopefully it will not come to that and you will hear soon.
