    Quick question y'all! We're about to send off all the paperwork (drowning in it) and we're doubting for the IRS transcripts for the 864. His last one, from 2023 (haven't filed 2024 yet) shows he makes well above the poverty line. If we'd add the ones from 2022 and 2021, it shows he's always made enough but there's significant jumps in salary. Is there a benefit of adding them if the one from 2023 shows he makes plenty?

    Question, if I want to use my husband's last name, do I fill in that last name on the paperwork? Since they'll reissue a new SSN card? Or do you have to go to the SSA and get a new card before you can do that?

    Oh interesting. So you just need to add your DS-3025 and don't need the I-693?

    We're about to file ours.. Exciting!! Am I correct in seeing you didn't file an I-693? I thought we were still required to, just didn't have to get a new exam etc?

    Yes! We have to before the 30th because that’s when I’ll be out of status. I already did 80% of the paperwork, just need to do some research on the questions I’m not sure on and add some proof. Can’t wait to breathe a sigh of relief once it’s been sent

    Yeah. I’m gonna set up an appointment with the one closest to us, because this one was 40min away, and just go whenever they have an opening. I don’t NEED the card right now thankfully, so I don’t have a very high urgency feeling anymore

    Yeah I broke down crying when she asked for the documents I didn’t have. LOL! But then she went to talk to a supervisor and got my number for me. Thank god.

    Okay update!! They gave me my ssn, but they didn’t tell me I needed to bring all my documents (marriage license etc) so I uh, didn’t. So no new card issued, but I ATLEAST have the ssn. Jesus Christ.

    We thankfully got married! There’s just a section for your SSN on I-485, so I have to get my SSN to file it. So I HOPEFULLYYYYY can get my number in person next week, and then I can wait on the card or whatever.

    3 weeks later and they closed the office for the funeral of the ex-president that died. Sigh. Called and we now have an appointment for next week, and I have 3 weeks until I’m out of status! Yippie.

    Dallas just seems to be a pain in the ###. I called and they said just put 000000 at the box for SSN, so hopefully that’ll work… I’m honestly beyond stressed out and annoyed now

    Office. So it wouldn’t even guarantee the number. But we just called around and found a place where they give out licenses without a ssn, so it might be okay

    Update! I called the office I applied at and they can’t help me unless I’m in person. Next available date? January 9th. I have to be married by the 30th. This is freaking INSANEEEEEE.

    The new date is just ASAP. My fiancé works 6a-6p mon-wed so we have to get the license Thursday or Friday, and then it takes 72h to be valid. So it’s really ASAP at this point hahaha. If it’s not here tomorrow I’ll have to call because it’s getting kind of ridiculous. And if anything, I’ll go to a county or city that doesn’t need a ssn. Tired of this hahahah

    Just incase anyone is wondering if I have my SSN yet: nope. The wait is KILLINGGG me. We applied for it on the 15th of November, the receipt date says Dec 3rd. It also says if you haven't received it in 2 weeks, contact us. So we're almost at that date. Sigh!!!

    Mallory linked what I'm going to use. I haven't filed yet because I've been waiting for my SSN for 4 weeks now, since I have to have one to get married in my county in Texas, yippie. But we don't need all the doses for it,thankfully!

    They told me I had to wait 4 weeks, and if it hadn’t arrived then I’d have to contact them. It’s been 3 weeks and some change, so I haven’t done anything just yet. This is definitely an option! I’m in Dallas, near Addison , we’re likely looking to go somewhere near Plano to get it done, so I’ll check to see what it says. We have until Jan 30th to do everything, so I’m not stressing VERY hard. Just a smidge.

    Whenever I look up the requirements for the license, it always states the SSN. Is this not the case? We’re in Texas
