  1. Not to disappoint you, but interview always automatically gets ticked. They can still call you in for one. Sadly have seen it a lot on USCIS reddit
  2. Ahhh that makes sense. I live in Dallas, so everything is fast as hell here... Amazon? I order at 11:45pm, it's here at 10am LOL
  3. We spent 50 dollars to overnight it the first time. Second time we paid .. 12? No rush. It arrived at the same time the next morning LOL
  4. Okay so I sent off mine 28/01 when mine was til 30/01. I got rejected due to a common mistake, selecting spouse of us citizen instead of K1. I didn't get my folder back until 25/2. So technically, I was out of status, still am but yeah... What we did is for question .. 13 and 76? I ticked yes for being here too long and explained why on the last page. And that should work. Overstaying usually gets waived due to us being married to a USC. But with the current admin, who knows.. Just file ASAP if you do get rejected.
  5. Nope, they just send your forms back. When is your i-94 expiring?
  6. I think you will be okay due to the postmark, but with USCIS, lord knows... Atleast the Illinois lockbox is fast with replies
  7. istg if they deny me I WILL throw a tantrum lol
  8. I can add this, you can keep adding evidence online AFTER sending. So don't stress TOO much about not having it right now. But a certified copy would work!
  9. There are definitely benefits to the CR-1. Our lovely mod Crazy Cat has made a list. It's a year old, so maybe people have more to add. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  10. To answer 2. Yes, yes it can. It's not recommended to do ANY type of ceremony that can be confused as a wedding, they can deny you
  11. It might not be bad, but you need to schedule your medical ASAP because it needs to be done before your appointment. You can also email them at the email that's listed on the website to confirm the appointment
  12. Did you receive instrutions on how to pay etc? If so, that would be the email. The only thing I'll say is, usually you schedule your medical exam BEFORE your interview, because it has to happen before.
  13. I personally have not. I recommend reading the Ankara/Turkey website on k1 visas. It says if you receive the email from them, then you can schedule. https://tr.usembassy.gov/fiancee-visa/
  14. It's not common that people schedule interviews before hearing from their embassy. What embassy are you located at?
  15. Ah I wonder why it's not listing the cities on your profile! But who knows, maybe someone with knowledge from the texas service center around your time might appear!
  16. VisaJourney is an estimate, not golden. Just wait is all you can do!! Also, fill in your timeline so people can give more accurate advice or they might know when you'd be up next!
  17. Praying we'll have the same. Can't stand another 4 weeks of silence XD
  18. I got my number, not my card. Long story short, I rescheduled on Jan 6th to get my card, offices closed for president Carter, they then rescheduled me to the 16th and I was out of status on the 31st. So they basically screwed me over. I won't have a card until my EAD gets approved.. But I atleast got my number!!
  19. Oh you got the text already? Then it shouldn't be as long. Just depends on the mail service I guess!
  20. It can take 4-8 weeks with slow offices, so keep that in mind. 11 days would be nice LOL. My package got delivered and now we wait!
  21. Hi, someone here who had a NIGHTMARE with the SSA. So they don't tell you your number over the phone. Local or national. They said (after 2h on hold) that the national number can't do anything without your SSN. If you are waiting 4+ weeks on your card and you still have 16+ days before your I94 expires, make an appointment BEFORE that happens. After that they can not reissue the card. If you're under 16 days, you can still make an appoitnment and ask for the number in person. I personally cried before they did that because they told me I needed all documents to prove my status etc and I did not bring them because I thought it was a simple reissue appointment. I see that you still have time before that 4 weeks, but you can always go in to ask for the number. If the SSA ever issued you a number you MUST have it for your 485. Filing without is risky because it literally states this in the instructions: 'If the SSA ever issued a Social Security card to you in your name or a previously used name such as your maiden name, then you must enter the Social Security Number (SSN) from your card in Item Number 19.' It was a HELL dealing with this when my card never got delivered.
  22. No problem! I did also add the date for 76, so for me I put '01/31/2025 to now, today writing this it's 02/25/2025'
  23. I can't tell you if I did it correctly obviously due to it just being sent off haha. So I hope I did it right.
