  1. Hi all. I figured I'd open a thread since January is getting kind of full, and I want to see more timelines around mine. We originally filed in January, got rejected and refiled the 26th of February. It got delivered on the 27th (Dallas/Lewisville box) and we haven't heard anything since. It's nerve wrecking, especially since I see others getting news within 2 weeks.. But oh well, all I can do is wait. Let's use this to discuss progress etc! 🙂
  2. I'm aware, I mentioned my lockbox because it's different. The people that I have talked to HAVE filed at Chicago, sadly no one on this forum filed at Dallas recently, from what I've seen. Like I said, this is the first case that is like mine.
  3. A lot of the people I talk to have theirs pretty soon. I'm also waiting with the Dallas lockbox, we sent ours the 25th of Feb. This is honestly the first person I talk to that has the same experience
  4. I'll just ask my husband 30 times a day if we're broke yet 😜
  5. Trying!! I'm nervous that something is wrong with my e-notification page, or address, or whatever and I'll miss out on everything.. BUT then they'd have taken the payment, and they haven't, so..
  6. I hope so too. I'm making my husband check his email incase it gets sent back to our locker at the apt every single day.. But it's only been 1,5 week so.. Can't panic too hard
  7. I know people who sent their package to the Dallas office a little after me are getting receipt texts but not me. UGH. Anxietyyy.
  8. I personally did include it because it shows when I filed it, on time, so it shows I tried my best to file on time.
  9. We sent ours dec 4th (2023) and didn't get a text until jan 30th, it happens. NOA1 showed up a month after
  10. Not to disappoint you, but interview always automatically gets ticked. They can still call you in for one. Sadly have seen it a lot on USCIS reddit
  11. Ahhh that makes sense. I live in Dallas, so everything is fast as hell here... Amazon? I order at 11:45pm, it's here at 10am LOL
  12. We spent 50 dollars to overnight it the first time. Second time we paid .. 12? No rush. It arrived at the same time the next morning LOL
  13. Okay so I sent off mine 28/01 when mine was til 30/01. I got rejected due to a common mistake, selecting spouse of us citizen instead of K1. I didn't get my folder back until 25/2. So technically, I was out of status, still am but yeah... What we did is for question .. 13 and 76? I ticked yes for being here too long and explained why on the last page. And that should work. Overstaying usually gets waived due to us being married to a USC. But with the current admin, who knows.. Just file ASAP if you do get rejected.
  14. Nope, they just send your forms back. When is your i-94 expiring?
  15. I think you will be okay due to the postmark, but with USCIS, lord knows... Atleast the Illinois lockbox is fast with replies
  16. istg if they deny me I WILL throw a tantrum lol
  17. I can add this, you can keep adding evidence online AFTER sending. So don't stress TOO much about not having it right now. But a certified copy would work!
  18. There are definitely benefits to the CR-1. Our lovely mod Crazy Cat has made a list. It's a year old, so maybe people have more to add. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  19. To answer 2. Yes, yes it can. It's not recommended to do ANY type of ceremony that can be confused as a wedding, they can deny you
  20. It might not be bad, but you need to schedule your medical ASAP because it needs to be done before your appointment. You can also email them at the email that's listed on the website to confirm the appointment
  21. Did you receive instrutions on how to pay etc? If so, that would be the email. The only thing I'll say is, usually you schedule your medical exam BEFORE your interview, because it has to happen before.
  22. I personally have not. I recommend reading the Ankara/Turkey website on k1 visas. It says if you receive the email from them, then you can schedule. https://tr.usembassy.gov/fiancee-visa/
