  1. @apnzzand @Boilermy fiancé's country of residency is Afghanistan and I did get an email since there is no embassy in afghanistan, i can transfer somewhere else and his option was pakistan at that time now seeing how bad the situation with pakistan is i was thinking of changing it to somewhere else but i am not sure if that is possible or if it's a good idea
  2. Hi everyone, I am the USC who sent the I129F and it got approved from USCIS and went to NVC and got the case number in June of 2024. From there we were waiting when it gets transferred from NVC to the US embassy in Pakistan but in August I received an email saying that Because Islamabad is not currently processing routine immigrant visa cases, the National Visa Center is holding your approved Form I-129F petition until they can do so. We cannot predict when all visa services will resume, or when your case will be scheduled for an interview. However, when Islamabad is able to schedule your case, they will send you a notice with your appointment information. Approved Forms I-129F have a 120-day expiration date from the date of approval by United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). * Once your designated embassy or consulate schedules your interview, a consular officer will revalidate your petition for another 120 days. * You do not need to take any action for this revalidation to happen. However, you may need to provide evidence that you still qualify for the K-1 nonimmigrant visa. and this same email I received it again in October. I believe there is nothing for me to do at this point till i get further notice but I still came here to ask so i don't miss something or make any mistake. At this stage that my case is what are the further steps for me??? I know i have to gather evidence for affidavit of support and fill out DS160 but when should I do that (since there are so many opinions on this)?? If I submit DS160 now and it is valid for one year then what if it takes longer than that to schedule an interview, should i not do it now?? I know the post got long but can someone please help me out and also point out if I missed something.
  3. Hi everyone, I think i am overcomplicating myself but i am asking others here for clarification so i don't get it wrong I transferred my fiancé's case to the embassy in Pakistan, I requested the transfer through the NVC inquiry form and they replied with this I was taking it as it means that the case will be going to Pakistan once they are ready to receive new cases from NVC. Or does it mean that the case has been transferred to Pakistan? Any reply is appreciated!
  4. @EatBulagathanks a lot. yeah, from what i had found he can stay in his home country till he goes for the interview to the 3rd country but i wanted more clarification on this matter on this forum since i have read other posts where people give useful opinions and advice. just wanted to be extra sure 😅
  5. @EatBulagahi, thanks a lot for replying. i understand the Pakistan embassy is not responsible for those things. my question was if someone is transferring their case to a third country do they have to go that country while their case is being transferred and they gather and fill out their paperwork that needs to be done or they can just stay in their own country and go to the third country when they have their interview scheduled? like basically go to the third country for their medicals and interview?
  6. @RiffR4ffhi so my case right now is at NVC because i have to yet request for my case to be transferred to any embassy since embassy in my country is closed so you mean i will get an email with approved form once my case is transferred?
  7. @SalishSeai filled out mine as pdf then printed and signed it, i didn't make a scanned copy of i129f before submitting it. if i don't remember the exact date how big of a problem is that? i am so worried now
  8. Hi everyone, I received the case number from NVC with some instructions. my fiancé is in Afghanistan where no US embassy is open so NVC said to request to transfer his case to any other country. my question is for now for transferring process, does he need the visa of that country where his case is to be transferred or i can just submit the request form without visa? (for the request of transfer NVC didn't ask to have the visa of that country for now, just that he should be able to get it if his case gets transferred there) and also from the info i have gathered it takes pretty long time to secure an interview date from Pakistan US embassy, so is it fine if i go ahead with doing the other paperwork like ds160 and get the interview date then he can get the visa to go there some weeks or days before the interview? i meant if its fine for now he remains in Afghanistan and then go to Pakistan when we get the interview date?
  9. Hi, if anyone with this experience or any knowledge and idea about it could help out so my friend, from same country, filed i129f for her fiancé and has already gotten NOA2 and an email from NVC with case number, attached is some part of that email the case for my fiancé is not at this stage yet but i am sure i will get similar email if approved so my question is, once at that stage is it worth it if i email to inquire about US government assistance and wait for their response or just directly answer NVC about his case reassignment to another country? another question i have is so my friend doesn't have any income so of course no tax filed ever and her brother in-law here is sponsoring her fiancé so does she need to fill I-134 or only her brother in-law needs to fill that out??
  10. @happyscrubi believe you meant to say it doesn't matter now, if its like that then that's a relief Thank you.
  11. @Allaboutwaitingnow he has his birth certificate but when will they ask for the birth certificate? because from the info i have gathered they only ask for that during the interview and with i129f they don't ask for that if i am not wrong. is it fine if i use district of birth even when forms only ask either town or city if it can't be left empty or checked n/a? idk i think i am confusing myself 😅 thanks for the response
  12. Hi, I submitted I129F packet for my fiancé Feb of this year, at the time of submission he didn't had birth certificate so for the village of birth I just put the name with spelling as I had seen before and now that he got his birth certificate, it shows different spelling of village name. So my question is how big of a problem is this? If he could explain it during the interview where birth certificate is required or how do I inform the USCIS about this? Another question is so for the future forms like DS160 and affidavit of support form, they don't have village of birth, its either city or town and we don't have city or town so what should I put for that as we have either village or district? Any response is appreciated!
