  1. Yes, the embassy accepts it. My wife did her medical on September 18th without a booster and her visa was issued on September 28th.
  2. Hey everyone, my wife picked up her passport today and set to cross the border on Sunday. You all have been accommodating with insights and personal anecdotes that helped us along the way. I have one last question for you all. My wife is currently pregnant and too pregnant for us to wait for a green card and social security and everything so we decided to have the baby delivered in Canada. So the plan is for a wife to cross the border to activate her visa by crossing the land border and returning to Canada. Based on my little research that will trigger the production of green card and social security number both of which will be delivered to our address in the US. Anyone has done this previously in this thread or know of someone who did it successfully?
  3. We were not asked for an RCMP police clearance certificate or to update the DS260. We received an email on September 6, 2024, for a second medical, passport, and passport-size pictures.
  4. Hey everyone! My wife's visa status changed to issued today. Here is our brief timeline: Interview: October 6, 2023 DS-5535 submitted: October 8, 2023 Status updates: November 3, 2023, March 7, 2024, August 23, August 26, August 30, September 6, September 13, September 26, and September 27. Second medical request: September 6, 2024 Passport sent and medical done: September 18, 2024 Medical sent: September 26, 2024 Visa Issued: September 27, 2024 There doesn't seem to be a logical sequence of issuing visas. Many of you sent your documents and medicals weeks ago and are still waiting whereas our medical was sent yesterday and our status changed to issued today. This whole DS-5535 experience is nothing short of an inhumane and degrading experience. We are very thankful to this community for all the guidance and support. MAY YOU ALL ESCAPE THIS HELL SOON.
  5. I thought they had a policy change where medicals done after November 1, 2023, do not expire starting April 1, 2024.
  6. We got a status change on September 6th and an hour or two later we received the email requesting the passport and medical. They seem to be moving on Fridays. Hopefully, yours change to "issued" soon.
  7. Accidentally posted the above message twice. I thought it didn't post the first time. 🫣
  8. Where did you find the list? On the AIS website, there are four Toronto addresses: two on King St, one on Adelaide, and one on Spadina.
  9. Where did you find the list? On the AIS website, there are four Toronto addresses: two on King St, one on Adelaide, and one on Spadina.
  10. Hello everyone, I have two questions regarding the new medical and document request. First, starting September 1, 2024, Ontario is not administering COVID-19 booster until the vaccine is approved. Randall Lee's office assistant says that since we cannot get the booster, they will just write in unavailable. Has anyone had a similar situation recently? Second, can we send the documents through any Canada Post location or does it have to be 25 King St W location in Toronto?
  11. I got another one today. Fourth since August 23. No request for a second medical or anything yet.
  12. Alright, so I guess we should not get excited either. We got updates on August 23, August 26, and August 30. I thought we would receive a request for a second medical after the Labor Day Weekend but I guess it might not be come. This process is indeed ridiculous and humiliating. I am praying that everyone gets their visa soon.
  13. We showed the USCIS i-130 approval, documentarily qualification email, interview email, etc.
  14. He will be fine since he has a return ticket. My wife was stopped once and we provided all the documents about our ongoing process. She is also living with her parents, we were allowed to cross the border. Our experience is that flying in is easier than road crossings especially if you have a returning ticket.
  15. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that if they ask for a second medical it is essentially doing everything again that you did for the first medical.
  16. So happy to see so much movement in the past week or so. I don't see them moving in a pattern tho. I hope the likes of @Superluminal get their requests soon. Congrats @Leo The Great! Our interview was two days after you but we haven't seen any movement on our case since March despite multiple emails. But fingers crossed for everyone here. I hope this is the start of a new normal.
  17. Congratulations, that is a very quick turnaround. Especially since you had your interview in January.
  18. Congratulations!! that is a quick turnaround (hope for us all)! Usually, once the visa is stamped, they say you will receive the passport back in 14 days but it takes less than 14 days.
  19. Congratulations!!! Very happy for you!! I hope this next step goes through quickly.
  20. I am getting more and more frustrated. We are in our 9th month now. Can we take any collective action?
  21. The trends point that way but I'm hoping you avoid this hell hole—best of luck.
