Hi friends!
My husband (Pakistani, 23) and I (American Citizen, 26) are expecting an interview soon. However, I was worried about some things:
Firstly, the age gap between us, we have been married for 2 years now, and got married fairly young due to religious reasons, we are not allowed to date (both Muslims), we have a lot of proof of our relationship, joint bank account, credit cards, photos with family and friends, passport with stamps of me entering/exiting Pakistan for years before and after our marriage etc. Would this age gap be an issue?
Secondly, my husband has had a police report filed against him from his own family (they were arguing over property distribution left in the will of grandparents and stated that he unlawfully took a share) however, after investigation it says that he was declared innocent and not involved in the case on his character certificate from Pakistan. Would this be an issue? I am worried they may want to dwell deeper because the case details are not explicitly stated, just simply that charges were not made, that the charges were considered "miscellaneous" and no convictions occurred.
Thirdly, is it a good idea for me to attend the interview? Would this strengthen his interview? I have flown out to join him, but am unsure if this would ruin any chances or perhaps make the case a lot better?
Our nerves our off the roof! Any suggestions are welcome!
