Questions on Supporting Evidence for I-134
sonnyboy0323 replied to Rosaly's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Sorry for bumping a dormant thread, but im curious and can't seem to find a definitive answer. For everything tax related, is the W2 and 1040 required? Like every single page be printed? Or will a tax transcript suffice? In my experience, the 1040 can be up to like 10 to 15 pages or more each year. Is that really necessary? Also how many years do I need of taxes? Thanks -
Man, they're sure knocking those cases out right? How's that "rapid clip" going there buddy?
-
LMAO where are you pulling that from? thin air? there's still TONS of late feb-early march cases that are just sitting there skipped. "rapid clip" LMAO what a joke. still at a screeching halt. and the best part is those of us with PH beneficiaries are SOL because the medical exam cost is going up in August, and we have no choice but to pay because we were unlucky enough to file in this HYPER SPECIFIC set of dates that just got skipped for no good reason, with no communication or explanation. but yeah, we should just be all smiles and give USCIS all the kudos and backpats while a we wait, and a decent number of filers AFTER us, get approved before us, and in barely over a month at that. yeah, good. 👍
-
it's very difficult to be patient and stay positive when there's those like myself and others like me who's cases have been very obviously skipped over, waiting for just about 150 days at this point, while others get their NOA2 in barely over a month. but congrats to you, all the best. if i may ask, how was the CFO process? did they ask for a certificate of no marriage and police/fbi clearance for the petitioner?
-
for beneficiaries in the Philippines, I believe it's mentioned that it's possible they will ask for police or fbi clearance for the CFO counseling interview, which by my understanding is the last step of the process for those going through the process from PH. i'm not completely read-up on what the CFO process is, but my fiancée was also asking me about clearance because she's being told its needed by other filers on various FB Messenger groups.

thank you as always. especially that checklist, that helps immensely. slight mistake on my part as i've just recalled, i believe she may have been referring to the CFO requirement. with some basic searching i've done on here, nothing much about the CFO process has been said in about a year. and what has been said, it seems like the CFO can be a major headache if you catch them on a bad day. given that i have no criminal record, a police or fbi clearance shouldn't be an issue to obtain, just annoyingly inconvenient given the distance i'd need to travel. just curious if anyone knows how common it might be to be asked for such a thing? -

thank you very much. another question if you don't mind. we're starting to prepare documents for the interview process, my fiancée is convinced that we require a police or fbi clearance certificate for me (the petitioner) and i really see nothing in any searches that i've done that says anything of the sort. I believe she needs to bring HER form of clearance, but she's being told my those in these K1 group chats who have also been through/are going through the process, that its a requirement for me as well. on that same vein, i'm a little annoyed that, unless i'm looking in the wrong places, that there's very little clarity on what exactly she needs to bring to the visa interview. like different sites say different things, and its confusing. thank you for any help. -

i want to start by saying, i know the process is a lot of waiting, and patience is key and all of that. really its not so much about the wait, but about the process. so, my fiancée is part of a few groups and chats with others going through the K1 and the like, and she's noticing there are people posting their approvals that have submitted after us and having waited a much shorter time than we have. i'm really just curious what makes the process go faster for some and not others? it really does just seem absolutely random with no rhyme or reason. its so strange to me that some have to possibly wait for maybe close to 2 years, and some can wait just a little over a month. -

to kind of piggyback off of this, we sent our I-129F packet in a couple months back, got the NOA1 (hard copy and text message) about a week later. I know the wait is expected to be pretty long, that's not my question. Checking the case status on the USCIS site, it says my case was received and that the notice "describes how we will process your case" and to "Please follow the instructions in the notice" but the hard copy notice only says that my case has been received and is currently processing, and a few other lines of mostly irrelevant stuff. no description of process to read or instructions to follow. i'm just curious if this is normal? i'm sure it is. i imagine these notices are mostly boilerplate, and having seen some examples of NOA1's from some others, it seems largely similar, but never hurts to ask. thanks -

okay so what about, if she has been to the US before on a student work exchange program, and she was given an SSN at one point. is no longer in possession of it, but does have an old W2 that has it. should i put it where it asks for one (if any) on Page 4, Part 2, Item Number 3? or just put none? -

Thank you everyone for your very generous help and information. We've continued on in the process and are closing in on getting everything organized to finally mail in the packet. Quick question, so, I know I ignore the questions regarding the I-94 on the form itself since she is not currently here in the states, but do I still need to include her I-94 documents and passport/visa in my packet? or is that for her to have to bring to her interview? thanks again. -

Thank you very much for the information. Most of what you said my partner and I knew already, we're doing our best to do our due diligence, research and prepare because we both know this can be a painstaking process and a big step forward for both of us. I was vaguely aware that it might be somehow possible for her to work while we wait for her greencard to arrive and the whole AOS process, but I'm unsure on the specifics of it, because the places I've checked (and even the USCIS site, if i'm not mistaken) don't really mention the work permission factor, just skip to AOS and the greencard. do you know what the Work Permission filing is called and maybe a brief explanation on how it might work? I'm in California if that helps at all. thanks so much. -

man, i really messed the formatting of that last post up, my had haha. thank you very much. 2 more quick dumb questions if you don't mind 1. for the letters of intent to marry, they should have a date on them right? should the date be when we intend to file? or whenever the letters were written? 2. i know its way later in the process, but i live in a house with 2 others, but am only responsible for myself, i am not supporting them. would that alter the poverty wage range i'm expected to be in to qualify for sponsorship? thank you -

so do you think just a brief mention of the site being the starting point of how we met, but not having really used its features, would suffice? I see, I was not aware. I will be sure to look into this further, thank you for your help. -

Because my fiancée is in the Philippines (I proposed when I went there to visit for her birthday) and we want to be together again as soon as possible, so we've started the process. Why else? I'm confused by that response. I already have a ton of documents, evidence and other supporting files printed. I have the I-29F mostly filled out and done, just a few loose ends I was hoping for some clarification on. Edit: I proposed to her there. we didn't plan on getting married there, if that's what you're asking? from my (limited) understanding, the process for getting a spouse over to the US instead of a fiancée seems largely similar, just that she would get her green card quicker if it was spousal instead of fiancée, right? -

Hello, brand new here. Nice to meet you all and thank you beforehand for your patience, help, and understanding. So my fiancée and I are just starting our K-1 as of a few weeks ago. getting documents printed and organized, filling out the forms. And there's a few points I'm a little confused on. I'm sure you are all bombarded with stupid questions regularly. So I'll do my best to keep it brief and once again thank you for your patience as I add a few more stupid questions to the forum. 1. for the "where to file" section, it shows two separate options, one for Dallas and one for Lewisville if you're using USPS or a courier. where i'm confused there is, in some of the K-1 process and advice videos i've watched, some of them put both on their package. so do i put both? or one or the other just depending on if i'm using USPS or a courier? 2. for 38.a to 38.h, it says "If your beneficiary is currently in the United States" to fill that section out, but then asks for all supporting information about her stay as in passport numbers and dates and whatnot. so if she is not currently here, but was previously here on a student exchange, do I leave 38.a to h blank and just send in the I-94 as a supporting document with the actual package? on top of that, do i also include her older passports, visas and stamps? or only her most recent. 3. so, we're pretty stumped about this. I FOUND her account on a dating site we were both using (IRIS), but she had her whatsapp number in her bio, so we completely circumnavigated the dating site and just messaged directly. we never matched or messaged or interacted in any way on the dating site, but that is how i found her and how i was able to find a way to message her. there's no real way to describe how we met without bringing up the site, but do you think i would be required to give the TOS of the site? and would it be considered an IMB? that's all i can really think of right now, i'm sure i'm missing something, but its 2am and my brain is mush. and i failed miserably at keeping it brief. thanks so much in advance in any help anyone can provide.
