Thank you, I do actually have a lawyer in Singapore. However, the situation is that, I don't know where he is and the lawyer has adviced that even if the judge grants me sole custody by default, this particular letter may not be possible as he just has been long gone. So in this case, I may only have the sole custody decree and possibly the relocation order(low chances of this getting approved). But please correct me if I'm wrong. I will ask my partner to apply I130 for my son before he turns 18 right? Subjected to the approval, we can slow walk or rather put the process on hold till hes 21 years old and then apply for the visa? Will the CSPA apply still?

Hi there, I am from Singapore. Getting married to USC next Oct and will start my process of the I130. Following that, my spouse USC will be starting the process for my son before he turns 18. At the moment, care and control is to me while me and ex husband share custody of my son. Does going to the lawyer and changing the shared custody to sole custody suffice in this application? Will this document be enough to support moving my son to US? As my lawyer advice that, since my ex husband has been uncontactable, it may be hard to even obtain his signature for relocation variation. In any case, the plan is for my son to move to US after he is 21 years old. And I would like to be able to file the petition before he turns 18. Thank you.

I130 bonafide evidence
yuyul replied to yuyul's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Understood! The USC is self employed and I will check along with him, hopefully we are able to do all of that from long distance. Thank you so much for reassuring, the immigration law isn't easy! -
I130 bonafide evidence

Thank you Dashinka! Also what do you mean to comingle my marriage,as I will be moving back to Singapore right after the wedding please? -
Hello Pushbrk and VJ family! I love seeing your advice and figured to reach out to you personally instead. Do let me know if I should open a new topic in Forum. I have went through I130's forum but couldn't help but to worry. Me and my fiancé are planning to get married this October 2024 and he will petition upon me leaving US. As I'm helping him to prepare the form, I'm not too sure if these evidence are enough? I have only met him once before in 2023 (spent 19 days with him) and the second time will be to marry him. - Marriage certificate -Call logs and text messages from Line app - My flight boarding passes/I94 from SG to US (does tickets to phoenix zoo counts?) - Photos of us (no family or friends), it would be possible to include the wedding pictures too. -Receipts of gifts and wedding rings - No hotel stay invoices as I would usually stay in his house. - No affidavits either. Do you think this will be sufficient? Thank you Yuyul

Hi there, yall have helped me greatly on my decision on K1 or CR1 visa. Now, I would like to enquire a little further for my son.(I'm the mother and the foreign spouse). My future husband is a USC, we are getting married before my son turns 18 years old. Unfortunately, my son being a Singaporean, needs to serve his mandatory National Service for 2 years(this will be at 18 years old) before he can migrate. And for him, he may only renounce Singaporean citizenship upon reaching 21 years old. I understand we will need to file another i130 for my son. Will this has to be before he turns 21? Should his petition I130 be approved, is he able to leave US for 2 years to complete his National Service in Singapore? I was looking at the CSPA and am unsure about this. As my plan would be for him to remain in Singapore and complete his National Service and while awaiting for his National Service to be completed, we could file the petition for him and if it is approved, we could bring him over to US. How does it goes if he has to leave US while having a green card for 2 years? I'm sorry if this question is all over the place

Hi all, thank you again for your valuable insights. We decided to go for the CR1 process instead. Is it breaking the law if I were to head to US to get married and stay there for a few weeks and come back home and do the consular process?

Hi all, thank you for the awesome help. Considering that the timeline between k1 and cr1 is similar, it would be a better option to go for the spousal visa yes?

Hi there, He is convicted for drug trafficking 10 years ago. Do you mean that he just need to submit the 1-129F first before the K1 Visa application? Does this form takes time to process before hitting that stage where we need to submit documents such as letter of consent for my son etc?

Hi there! It is because I am unsure of several things. The felon issue has been addressed but not for my son😅
-
This is great news!! I'll just need him to get his civil rights and get a new passport. Will this felon charge put us in a situation where we need a immigration attorney?
-
Hi there!! Should I do this before submitting my k1 and his k2? Or is it possible to just submit his name on my k1 application as he will be joining me very much later.

I have met him before last year. And am flying off again this year to see him again to arrange for wedding stuffs etc. I'm not too sure how the k1 application would affect me visiting him after/before applying for it. I have read in some forums that some do get denied from entering, I'm under the vwp if that helps! Yes this is right! My apology, I am not used to the terms!

Hii! I had asked him, he mentioned its to restore his rights to vote and to get a passport etc.

Hi there. My first time being here. My US partner and I am keen in the K1 visa. I am from Singapore and a divorcee with a 14 years old son. My partner has a previous drug trafficking case 10 years ago. He has yet to get his civil rights. I understand there may be some issues as he has yet to get his civil rights, which meant that he won't have his US passport to apply for K1. This can be done on his end, how wl the previous drug trafficking affect our case? As for my son, I would definitely love to bring him over ,however it is shared custody with me having care and control. The whole process to change custody to sole custody may well take a year. How will K2 visa work in my favor? Should I still go for K1 visa? We are looking to apply in Oct 2024 as I will be in US a month before.
