  1. hi my good people, just wanted to let you all know that exactly at the 2 weeks mark my status has changed to "New Card Is Being Produced" Thank you for all your support my new family Hopefully, this means I will be getting the most awaited card soon? Can someone please share their experience and timeline?
  2. Thank you very much @Demise ! Did the officer tell you the next steps on the day of interview or were they open about it if you got approved on the spot? Can you please tell me a bit about their behavior at the interview? I am trying to decipher whatever I felt in terms of their niceness at the interview. They were pretty respectful. I am wondering if their is a connection :)
  3. I need help, can someone please share the timeline between their AOS interview and the day they got approval and their physical card in hand? Anyone who has recently been approved or received their Greencard please?
  4. Yes you must take sealed I-693. If you do not it can unnecessarily trigger RFEs that may delay your case. Even if the officer does not ask for it just politely ask him if he needs to see your sealed medical records. Believe me it will save both of your time. The $400 I agree is a lot of money but in the end if you get your approval earlier, it will all be worth it.
  5. Hi Family, can someone please share the timeline between their AOS interview and the day they got approval and their physical card in hand?
  6. In my interview, the officer did not ask much except for the yes or no questions. Plus, some of the marriage history with abuser. How we got married and how many people were invited. Or if I have ever spoken to the abuser after the last incident. They did not get into abuse at all. While I was going through everything that had happened in my head for the past month and was reliving it again and again. But they were actually quite nice and decent. They did not bring up the abuse at all. They did ask the marriage and divorce dates but nothing I would not feel comfortable to share with them. From my experience, I would suggest you to go over the application very very thoroughly and try to remember the dates as much as you can. Especially the dates of your residences. They asked me so many dates. Basically going over your I-485 application and anything that has changed in your life after that- be it employment, residence, marriage status, anything about parents. Just have a quick revision of what all has happened since you filed the application. Please make sure you have all the documents photocopied and their originals with you. Keep them organized so that it does not take much time to find them. Please bring your I-693 medical in a sealed envelope if you have not already submitted with your application. It is very important. They will open it and go through it at the end of the interview. Please keep us posted about your experience. Good luck!
  7. I do have an interview in less than two weeks. Do they really ask for your the original Marriage certificate with the abuser? I have the wedding date on the original Divorce Decree. I do have an interview in less than two weeks. Do they really ask for your the original Marriage certificate with the abuser? I have the wedding date on the original Divorce Decree.
  8. Can anyone help answer if I do not have the original for my marriage certificate with the abuser, will it be an issue at the interview? There is no way for me to get it. The wedding did not happen in the USA.
  9. Hi FaithOct19, Mine took more than 5 years to get transferred to NBC. I reached out to the congressman's office for help. Multiple and consistent inquiries from their office actually finally got me an interview date, 4 months after the transfer happened to NBC. I still have to go through the interview. Please reach out to your congressman and keep reaching out every 90 days for status updates.
  10. Thank you so much @Risen. Will they require the original Divorce Decree or the scanned copy in printed form will work? I was going through my I-485 and realized that the date of marriage is different than on the marriage certificate. Probably the non profit put it wrong and I did not recheck. Thank you for stating this. I am traumatized to talk about it or read my affidavit that I submitted originally but hearing everywhere that if you don't have a attorney they ask for details. Is it true? Do I need to take documents that were originally submitted with the I360?
  11. Hi Sandra, Thank you so much I really appreciate all your advice. You are absolutely right about it. The officer on the call to USCIS told me to go to the interview as well. My non profit organisation who helped me file it in 2019 is in the city where the Green card was filed so the officer was wondering if that is the case they gave me that field office. Also, my I693 medical was never filed and I do not have the interview letter to know if they are asking me to bring it to the interview. What should I do about that? What other documents will I need to bring to the interview? And, is it possible for you to help me represent at the interview? Is it advisable that an attorney should accompany the interviewee? Also, if @Risen firsttimer any other person has gone through the interview recently, can you please share your experiences? Like what kind of documents should I have? Do I need to bring the affidavit I filed with VAWA? Do they need the original Dissolution Decree? I still don’t have my interview letter from the non profit org so I am a little nervous about the documentation. Thank you so much for all your help! BR!
  12. Hi friends, Need some urgent advice on AOS Interview. Thank you so much for your advice last time. USCIS has scheduled my AOS interview for May 2024 in the previous city that I lived in. I have moved to a new State a few months ago and I have filed the AR11 right after the move to update the new address in the USCIS system. Can you please advise me what should I do at this point? Should I still go to the AOS interview in the previous state I lived in or should I get the interview rescheduled? Will getting the interview rescheduled further delay my case? Thanks for all the advice.
  13. Thank you for sharing Reister. Did you have to go through an interview? Was your file ever transferred to the local FO. Which FO it was if you don't mind sharing please? @Wilifanfano they say you can always get an AP but my attorney from non-profit advised strictly against it. If you are denied entry all that you have ben through will go in vain. Please just see how important it is for you to travel. Some people have families and jobs here so it might not be advisable for them.
  14. Thank you Reister and balo101 again. So far I have had no luck with Emma or USCIS helpline or USCIS Info Pass appointment website. Initially, when I had applied I remember going to one such appointment and again no information from there as well. They kept emphasizing on it being a VAWA case, took my number but never got back to me. Can people here share their "NBC transfer onward" experiences please? May be that will give me some relief as I am really exhausted with this whole process and would love to see some light now.
  15. Thank you balo101 for your quick response. About the info pass, I have made several attempts to make an infopass appointment but they would just not give me saying that "VAWA is a double edge sword." People wait for years to get it and we cannot provide you any info. The officer at the local office would not know anything either. Do you know how can you get such an appointment? What options should you choose while booking it? In my case, they would rather give me a call and say the same things again and again, with no helpful info or appointment to go to.
  16. Hi Sandra, Hope you are doing well. I have been reading your replies and getting a lot of help on my case even if I never posted my question here. I had applied for my VAWA in April 2016 and got it approved in August 2018. Then I applied for my I485 in February 2019 and my Biometrics were taken in March 2019 itself. The case was updated in August 2019 to show that the fingerprints were taken by VSC. Since then there was no activity on my case except for getting my EADs renewed every year since VAWA got approved. Last year, with your advice on the thread I reached out to my congressman and in January 2024 my case was transferred to the NBC. Now, I know that my medical was not submitted at the time of my AOS application because the lawyer from the non-profit org advised against it. And, due to which my file is lacking the medical report I693. Can you please give me advice if I should interfile my I693 proactively before even I get an RFE? I am getting mixed advice from various lawyers but I really trust your expertise. Some have told me to wait for NBC to issue an RFE. Others are saying there is no harm except that you might lose money if they do not file it or if they lose it. I have not been to my country in 9 years and I am exhausted. I will really appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you!
