Yep, fully aware. Just preparing all the documents to submit the I-130. Her job requires her to be in person and remote work isn't possible, so that shouldn't be an issue. I'm guessing it'll be less sketchy once I move in with her in Canada and I submit the I-130.

Hi all, I recently got married, and my wife has been living in Canada, in a border city. She needs a B2 visa to enter the US, since she is a citizen of a country that requires a B1/B2 to enter the US. She recently got this visa, so I'm somewhat paranoid at the moment, and don't really want to do anything to get it revoked. I am a US citizen, recently naturalized this year. I plan on moving in with my wife soon, but not yet (just personal and financial reasons). I have been frequently visiting her, 2-3 days per week mostly on weekends. I am also a citizen of Canada. Applying for CR-1 is in the plans, but I have not yet done so. I would like to cross with her into the US from time to time to visit. She doesn't have a car or a license yet, so I would be driving her back and forth, which isn't an issue for me. What are the chances of running into issues with CBP with this plan? As for me, I have been honest with CBP/CBSA so far. I always tell them that I was in Canada visiting my wife; No, I have not applied for benefits; She lives there and works there. So far this hasn't caused me any issues. Any insight will be appreciated!

Update on my dad, he ended up getting his interview on August 19. Not sure what the delay was.

So literally 2 hours after this post, I get an email notification saying my oath notice was mailed. Oath is going to be on July 8th, 3 weeks from now. Timeline: 03/17: Submitted N-400 online, immediately got receipt notice and biometrics reuse notice. 05/09: Interview notice sent for 06/18. 06/18: Interview passed, oath notice sent for 07/08.

Just did my interview today! My case was approved and now I'm waiting for my oath date. It was pretty simple. The security guards didn't let me until 15 minutes before my appointment time. Once I got in, I just completed the check-in process with the receptionist, who took my photo and fingerprints, and confirmed the appointment time in the letter. The officer came out to the waiting area and called me in right on time. First she made me swear that I will tell the truth and nothing but the truth while standing. Then after sitting down she started with the civics questions. I got asked 6 questions verbally, along with reading 1 sentence and writing 1 sentence on the iPad. Questions were straight from the study guide, nothing complicated. After the questions, she went through my application and ask some clarification questions, like do I go to Canada a lot, have I traveled within the past 5 years, etc. Followed up with do I understand the pledge of allegiance and do you agree/accept the constitution. This is also when I mentioned I had a traffic ticket. I just mentioned it to her and she didn't have any follow up questions. At the end of it, I was given an opportunity to ask questions but I didn't, I was ready to GTFO lol. Entire process took maybe like 30 minutes. Longest part of the process was driving to the field office.

Not mine, but my dad's: 03/18: Applied Online 03/18: Notice of appointment for biometrics, scheduled for 04/05 04/05: Case being actively reviewed Reason I'm sharing this is, I applied on 03/17. My parents both applied together on 3/18, and my brother applied on 3/20. Me, my mom and my brother all have our interview scheduled for 06/18. But my dad's application is still under review. Seems like a bit of a toss up on what they decide on. We all applied under the 5 year rule. Perhaps it's because of the speed camera ticket he had to submit, which didn't even have a fine associated with it, it was just a written warning from an automated speed camera in Ohio. I on the other hand had a $175 traffic stop citation.... so idk what's up.

No I did it under the 5 year rule. I got my GC through my parents who got sponsored by their company. Field office is Detroit.

Welp, just got my interview notice today! 05/09: Interview notice sent for 06/18. Tracker is now showing 7 months processing time, lol. My anniversary date is 06/05 I had applied with the early 90 day filing date.

Apologies for necro-ing this thread, but I wanted to provide an update on my situation. We decided we're going to live in Canada after my N-400 gets approved and I become a USC. Will be living in a border city so I won't have to change jobs either (in fact it would be a shorter commute than it is currently for me lol)

Guess I'll put in my data point as well! 03/17: Submitted N-400 online, immediately got receipt notice and biometric reuse notice within like 20 minutes. Immediately after submitting, the processing time showed 4 months. Then the week or so after, it shot up to 8 months. As of this post it's showing 5 months. I helped my parents submit theirs on 3/20 and theirs is showing 6 months now.

Person A's green card was category E23. Parents were E21 and E22. And yes, I could have worded question #2 better, you're spot on with what I was wondering. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have a bit of a marriage related predicament. Yes I'm "asking for a friend" (I'm person A in this case) Person A: US Green Card Holder Expected to get US Citizenship through naturalization (5 year residency requirement will be met in June) by the end of 2024, unless something catastrophic happens. Canadian citizen. Person B: Foreign Citizen, attending graduate school in Canada, holds Canadian student visa. Expected to get Post Graduate Work Permit for ~3 years after completing grad school. Apparently is part of a family relative petition that was submitted ~3-4 years ago. Petition was done for Person B's parents: B's mother's sister is a US Citizen, and petitioned for B's parents. B was included as a dependent. Applied for B1/B2 tourist visa in Canada, and has an interview scheduled for later in 2024. B has several extended family relatives in the US that they want to visit, as well as for tourism. A and B plans on getting married, but will only do so after: A gets their US Citizenship B gets their Canada PGWP to extend their stay in Canada, as A is able to regularly visit Canada. My questions are: How does the pending family relative petition play into this? B is currently 24 and have potentially been aged out (need to confirm when exactly they submitted the petition however). Is B even eligible for the B1/B2 visa that they applied for? (I suspect they might deny B's case because there has been an intent to permanently immigrate to the US, or am I wrong?) Thanks in advance for your help!
