  1. I just dont get it. I filed a WOM it was dismissed. My interview was last Nov 2023 and I am still waiting but people with interviews after me are getting approved. Not to sound like a debbie downer but this process is ridiculous. I have a life on hold because of this process and it is the most frustrating thing ever. I want to buy a home and start a family but I am not allowed to because of this immigration process that is never ending.
  2. Received unsolicited updates on August 8, August 13, and August 15. Haven’t received anything since then. I got my hopes up but looks like this wait will continue. I am hitting 3 years of being in this ridiculous immigration process 😡
  3. I am hoping someone can help me clarify something about the medical exam. I read on the USCIS‘s website that anyone that got a medical exam after November 1, 2023 has an indefinite validity period. Can someone please confirm if this is true as my medical exam was done after November 1, 2023? https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-new-guidance-on-form-i-693-validity-period
  4. Received my 3rd unsolicited update in one week. Does anyone know how many updates it takes before a passport request? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🥲🥲
  5. Updating my timeline: Interview: Nov 28, 2023 DS-5535 submitted: Nov 28, 2023 Unsolicited update: Aug 8, 2024 Unsolicited update: Aug 13, 2024 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
  6. I have been waiting since November 2023 and I received another unsolicited update. This update was on August 8. The last update was June 28. Really hoping they ask me for my passport soon.
  7. Is this a new requirement now? I have my two shots but now they need a booster for the medical too? How long is a medical valid for? Thanks!
  8. I don’t think it’s the WOM because that would be quite soon for them to action based off of that. It was only filed at the beginning of June and they are taking minimum 60 to 90 days right now to respond to them.
  9. Congrats!! Hopefully my request is not too far either. I got two unsolicited updates late last week. Given this news, we can conclude that there is no order of how they are approving these cases and it is not by first come first serve basis.
  10. Received another unsolicited update today. So far the pattern is June 27, June 28. Fingers and toes are crossed!!
  11. This is actually my first one. My last one was April 25 but that was triggered by an email response from them.
  12. Not getting my hopes up but just received an unsolicited update today on my CEAC. I am hitting the 7 month mark tomorrow since my interview.
  13. They had a conversation with the government lawyer and they were not ready to budge. I did not want to further waste my money knowing the history of recent WOM cases.
  14. Its been 7 months since my interview and receiving the DS-5535 and still no progress. I filed a WOM which was dismissed last month citing that I haven't been waiting long enough. Luckily the lawyer gave me half my money back. I feel like the wait is never ending. I have talked to congressmen and no progress. Overall this process is defeating and I can’t help but wonder when this nightmare will end.
  15. I received my DS5535 form in November 2023 and had not travelled to the US since. This past Sunday I crossed the border at Toronto Pearson without any issues. I was worried for the last 6 months and was separated from my husband out of fear. They asked me why I am going and when I am returning to Canada and let me through. This is for those individuals that have any doubts about travelling to the US during admin processing. I would also like to add that I did cross the border after travelling to three new countries since I submitted my DS-5535 form.
  16. Been in DS-5535 processing for 6 months. Filed a WOM and the government has filed a motion to dismiss. Super frustrating. We are now trying to strategize if we should fight it or accept it. Really hoping the processing takes under a year than more than a year.
  17. According to the declaration by Carson Wu, the choice of whether we are getting the DS 5535 form is determined by the system. There is a flagging that comes up with maybe a name match or some sort of a trigger in their database, which causes them to give us the form. Once that flag comes, and they give us the form the consular officer cannot do anything on our file until the state department does not finish their administrative processing. Once the processing is over, they send the file back to the consular officer at the consulate and re-adjudicate.
  18. Im happy you have been getting some sort of responses. I have emailed them three times since December and have not received any response. I only received one response from them in early December. My last date change was on December 18, 2023.
  19. If you go into fb search for this group “US Embassy Administrative Processing And Form DS-5535” its a private group with 1.5k followers. You will have to request to be part of it.
  20. I keep up with a DS5535 fb page with individuals from around the world. I am noticing a few people posting updates that they have received a request for their passport around the 8 month mark. I honestly wonder what causes them to have a faster processing time versus individuals from Montreal.
  21. Hello everyone we have a new blog update from Red Eagle Law that speaks to a reduction in the amount of cases in AP DS-5535 since January 2024. I am attaching a link for the blog, and there is also a new declaration that has been made by the department of state that provides more information on the administrative process and what goes on behind-the-scenes. Praying that this is the light at the end of the tunnel that will reduce the backlog and have our visas issued sooner rather than later. https://redeaglelaw.com/blog-1/f/new-state-department-declarations-on-administrative-processing
  22. All the positive news in the forum is making me feel hopeful. The government has until the end of the week to respond to my WOM. Hoping for some positive news. My lawyer has a call scheduled with the US attorney this week. Another WOM being handled by my lawyer recently got approved two weeks ago.
  23. I’m hoping someone can shed light on this if you file a WOM and the government does not respond within 60 days. What happens then? I read somewhere on Reddit that if they do not respond within 60 days, the judge can just take action based off of your request. Is this true because the government only has about five days left to respond to my WOM I have still not received anything. When reviewing other peoples timelines, I am noticing that the government has been responding within a couple of weeks.
  24. It is both comforting and heartbreaking to know that I have found a community of people experiencing the same emotions as my husband and I. This process is taking a toll on our mental health and marriage. Its scary because it seems like there is no end in sight. We just want to start our lives together. It angers me that the US government has no sympathy for individuals trying to legally immigrate with NO criminal record. My biggest sin is that I chose to fly back and forth throughout dating and marriage to see my husband. If i had never visited him then i would be questioned on the authenticity of our marriage. Either way we were going to be screwed. I am just praying for some positive news or change that will clear this backlog and issue me a visa.
  25. I am currently waiting for a response from them after filing my WOM as well and we are nearing the 60 days on April 5 and have not heard anything and no updates on CEAC either.
