I didnt bring my personal car with me. I also flew to the US however I would check online for any specifics around that.

No i just waited for them. It took them exactly one week to change my status to issued. It took another two days to get my tracking number and i received it the third day.

October 8 they received everything and I got my passport with visa in hand on October 18.

Officially crossed the border yesterday. I did get pulled into secondary however they just confirmed some details around my address and who sponsored me. Goodluck to everyone! 🙏🏻🇺🇸

Hello everyone, just wanted to provide a final update. I received my passport today with my stamped visa and will be officially moving within the next 10 days!! This has been a 3 year long journey for my husband and I and I pray that this day comes for all of you soon. Also I noticed that my clearance for 221g was received on the day of my first unsolicited update in August. So i suggest you contact your congressman soon as that is what pushes them to pick up the file in my experience. I am not sure as I printed a return label via the portal. That return label already has the consulates address on it. Furthermore the Canada Post designated location I went to mails to the US consulate in Montreal so i didnt have to provide an address.

So my medical was sent on a Friday but the medical submitted email from emedical was received by me on Tuesday morning. I received a case status update on Tuesday and then again on Thursday before the visa was issued the following Tuesday. Took a full week to received issued status after medical was received by consulate.

Hello my congressmans office I was able to speak with via phone call. They have sent the email to the consulate and got responses the next business day. They have been directly emailing the US consulate in Montreal.

The big day has finally come! My status changed to issued today 🥳🎉 so excited to have my passport in hand and move to the US!

Super frustrated with this process. The passport was delivered over two weeks ago and theyve had my medical for a week now and still showing refused. I have a vacation in 11 days and it looks like im not going to have my passport back. Why is everything so slow ☹️☹️☹️

Hey guys im a little worried. I got a passport and medical request via my congressman from the MTL consulate on Sept 25. I sent my passport and it was delivered Oct 2. This morning my medical was submitted. This afternoon i got two emails from the consulate (immigrant visa unit) with the subject line “Yatri: U.S. DoS Visa system additional documents required notice” and they requested my medical and passport again. That has already been submitted. Has anyone experienced this? I replied to their email but not sure whats going on.

Quick question what’s the timeframe from the consulate receiving the medical to status changing to issued? My medical was received this morning. Status date was updated however still showing refused.

OK, so this is not making sense to me. What if I crossed the border after getting my visa but my job is still on the Canadian side I will still be required to file taxes for 2023 in Canada therefore I should still have healthcare coverage. I’m not quitting my job in Canada until I don’t get a job on the other side of the border therefore, I would still have healthcare coverage here even after activating my green card.

I would google it. There should be information on the states website.

I would ask your congressman to reach out as I didnt hear back after 3 unsolicated updates and when my congressman reached out they asked for my passport same day. Might be a situation where the file is awaiting consular officer review.

I wouldnt advise that because the consulate has been inconsistent with how long they’re taking to mail back passports. You wouldnt want to take the risk and then get stuck in the US.

Does anyone know how long it’s taking for the embassy to receive the medical results?

My passport has changed because i got it renewed. I was asked to send in my passport and I will be sending the new one in however the passport number they have on the DS260 is of my old one. Do I need to let them know anything?

I already got the email yesterday for updated medical and passport. My interview was Nov 28, 2023.

The day I have been so eagerly awaiting for the past 10 months has arrived. Yesterday I got a status update that my file was pending consular review. I reached out to my congressman yesterday and they received a quick response today requesting my updated medical and passport. I am overwhelmed with happiness and tears of joy. I am at a loss for words because this day seemed light years away. I am so grateful for this page and all of you that made this long journey more bearable. Reached out to my senators office in hopes he can get my process moving. Hopefully i have some positive news soon 🤞🏻 they have already emailed the consulate.

On a sidenote, I am just realizing that them asking for my documents does not mean that the wait is over. I will still have to wait for my visa to come in and then I will have to wait for my card to come in and then I will have to wait for my Social Security number to come in. Looks like another year of life wasted in administrative processes. 😭🥳🥳

I sent an email to MTL consulate on Wednesday last week and this is the fastest response i have received. As I mentioned earlier I received 3 unsolicited updates in August and it has been radio silence since. The response I received today is the following: “This case is currently pending review by a consular officer. As soon as the review is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing the case” Has anyone ever received this type of a response before? I don’t want to assume anything but I am under the assumption that my processing is complete and I am just waiting for someone to ask me for my passport at this point. I looked back at my previous generic responses from them and none of them are like this.
