  1. Yes, I was fully prepared to wait a month. I guess between the sponsor views and USCIS the total wait time is averaging out for me. Hope your gets processed soon.
  2. It took USCIS 7 days to process my case after the DOS approval. DOS Favorable Recommendation on May 15th, USCIS case approved May 22nd. Mine took 3 months, but I think it depends on who the sponsor is.
  3. Yeah, I would have thought their own (DOS) statement advising all US citizens to evacuate would be sufficient. It wasn't so bad waiting around in another country, but definitely annoying because of the heightened sense of being in limbo.
  4. It's finally happened for me as well. Favorable recommendation. Two years and a month since the beginning of the whole process and just over a year at the DOS stage. I had both the request for documents (that came after 6 months of waiting) and sponsor views. My sponsor was the education division of the DOS, but my program wasn't Fullbright. My spouse and I spent 6 months in Ukraine before having to leave and apply for the hardship waiver. I would have much rather preferred to stay and finish my time, if it were safe to do so, than go through this process. I was waiting for the decision outside the US in a third country. The request for documents was weird. They asked me to prove that there really was war going on in Ukraine (this was fall of 2022). And also asked for information that was already provided in my case. So we provided the info again in a different statement, added a medical evaluation, and found a bunch of published official reports from places like UNICEF and other organizations about the war. Best of luck to everyone.
  5. My DOS page just got updated saying "Sponsor Views Received". Fingers crossed. They sent the sponsor views request Feb 02, 2024 and say they received it May 06.
  6. Same thing with my case. With the RFE it was 3 weeks short of a year at the USCIS. They did move the case along fast once they received the RFE.
  7. I also had an RFE. It was obvious that they didn't even read my statement or look at the documents because they asked for things we included in the file. It's stressful and annoying. The only good thing about this situation is that you have a chance to submit even more proof and make your case even stronger. My spouse got an additional evaluation from an expert who has dealt with government institutions before. My lawyer previously advised us that this evaluation was unnecessary because he believed our case was strong and self-evident. Also in my case, my lawyer added to the pressure by dragging his feet and being unresponsive, sending in the additional documents at the last moment. So if I could do it over again, I would check in with my lawyer sooner asking for progress updates, instead of trusting that he will work on my case as he promised.
  8. That's right, no sponsor views yet for me. It was easier to wait before the sponsor views were requested. Now I know it's almost over (hopefully), I get impatient. Definitely need to distract myself and not check the website so damn often.
  9. I feel the same. I just want my answer, even if it's negative. So tired of waiting. They sent a request for my sponsor views on Feb 02 (case at DOS since early May 2023) and since then waiting is worse because I expect the answer any day now, but it never comes.
  10. I think so. The program website just says sponsored by DOS. It's not Fulbright. But it's a high school exchange program, so likely that the sponsor is ECA, but I'm not 100% sure.
  11. Can't figure out how to reply to comments here. But no, I didn't contact a representative or do anything but sit and wait. I highly doubt that contacting my congressperson from Texas would have helped things. I really hope that DOS is speeding up their processes now and all still waiting will get answers soon.
  12. My hardship case, which arrived at DOS on May 04, 2023, just got sent for sponsor views. My sponsor was DOS. Happy with some movement. I just want to know one way or the other. So tired of waiting. Does anyone know how long the sponsor views usually take from DOS?
