  1. Hello everyone, Sorry I had to create another account to be able to write another response, my main account has daily limit. I was going to wait 24 hours but due to getting too many different perspectives without being able to response at all, I thought this will be more efficient. Sorry if you think otherwise. I will start explaining again. If you think I am poorly explaining the details, it is because I am not very familiar with these situations, I never had to claim asylum before in my life, I never had any immigration problems. I don't know what kind of detail is crucial or not. I never joined visa or immigration forums before because I never needed to. I would just follow the legal procedure and get my visa then travel. I travelled more than 15 countries, most of them required visa from my origin country. I can clearly understand some passive-aggressive comments because I crossed the border illegally, some of you may think I am just another person that is abusing the laws but it is not the case at all. I am a person who is a team leader in a video game company, I almost never did labor work due to my high education, if you ask me why did not I choose the legal way to stay then, I had no time or desire to live in another country. I wanted to live in my own country but my own country is a country that puts people in prison over a political tweet. I was going to claim asylum in US but I did not because my immigration lawyer told me US might want to see you in prison first to find your reason enough to be able to claim asylum, he suggested me to go to Canada to not risk getting deported and eventually going to prison on my own country(He suggested that Canada is more understanding with those issues in your own country) I also went on a hearing and proved multiple physical evidence that I am in danger in my own country. I would apply for the Express Entry which provides permanent residency in Canada legally, but it takes at least 1 year to get a positive result. I cannot stay more than 6 months in US and I cannot go back to my own country to wait for the process. I would be in prison. Applying for tourist visa in Canada and then claiming asylum would be a similar thing to do with crossing the border, it would be lying to get a visa. Well I am a human after all and I cannot make the best decision in all cases. Some of you may think it is the right thing to do while the others think it is completely wrong and I get it. My siblings are in US and my parents are in my origin country. I haven't seen anyone from my family for the last 6 years. If you think I am here to enjoy the goodies of Canada, eh I have nothing to say to you. I hope you will never have to go through what I had to. Don't get me wrong, I still have a good life in Canada and I am grateful but I paid the price by being completely isolated from my past life. I had to apply for the US visa again because my origin passport is seized by the Canadian government as it should be. If I claim asylum why would I still be using my origin passport? I do not have any reasons to permanently stay in US as I have a great job and great income in Canada. Someone asked when did I apply for the US visa, I came to Canada in 2018 and I did not apply for visa until 2022. So I waited 4 years before applying again. And, BTW, there is no way the interviewing officer "...threw my passport back at me..." -- not possible to do through a hardline interview window! I saw this comment as well, he did not threw at my face of course, I am not sure how to explain in text but after copying my travel document, he threw back at the counter if this is more clear for you.
