P.S. I do agree on this part. But overall, he tore Walz a new one in a very sophisticated manner. Exactly the things liberal women hate about Trump, they should love about Vance. At the very least he might have convinced the undecided, although I can't think of why on earth anyone could be undecided in this election. It's literally a choice between The United States and the Bolsheviks. It should be an easy choice, regardless of your opinion on Trump or his mean tweets.

I personally agree, but it was the smart move IMO. I am as conservative as it gets, but I know a LOT of liberals (being from The Netherlands) and I think he was very likeable and reasonable to young, educated liberal women. A group that votes overwhelmingly Harris because the common sense was slapped out of them in school and college. I think he did great on that issue, even though I think abortion should be banned everywhere with a few exceptions. What I had hoped he would have said was that abortion these days is 98% 'convenience' by women who don't want to take birth control and can't keep their legs together. The other 2% is rape, incest and life of the mother which is already the exception Trump agrees on. Walz was only pulling heart strings and ignored that 98% is just convenience abortions (the 'no money', 'my career is more important', 'broke up with my baby daddy', 'I am just a hoe that is proud to have had 26 abortions' types). That is what I wished he had explained because I am sure most people do not realize that.

It seems relevant since the OP in that thread arrived with a K1 and a health issue and had a annotation on visa, as I told OP here they may get instead of denial.

Check this thread/document in the post. I believe you might find answers in there.

As far as I know it will not cause a denial, but he might get a note on his Visa that he needs further check-up upon arrival at the POE.

Online Utah marriage
Legal Alien replied to J876's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
We did it, just for fun because my parents couldn't be here so we want to have a wedding still. I am in the process for AOS. Difference is that I came on a K1 visa and we got married online but we were physically in the same room. From what I read here Utah marriage is fine as a proxy marriage as long as you can prove you have consumated the marriage, so have met in person AFTER getting married. -
It's huge. People are afraid or too annoyed to publicly state they are Trump supporters. Either their handful of liberal neighbors will torment them, or some ** that works for the city drives by and notes your address in the category 'property tax up next year because Trump supporter'. Also, people are sick and tired of having to get into heated discussions with people and are frustrated trying to explain why the country is turning into communist China. So they don't say much. The town I live in is red, the whole county is red. Everyone keeps quiet because the hatred from the hardcore democrats is real and people don't have the patience to deal with it anymore. I posted in a group for my county that I just moved here and was looking for people who would like to go on hikes and knew a good denominational Bible group. I got a private message from one of the dems living here, trying to get me to her church: It's funny how they automatically think immigrants are liberals. I replied that I might be scarier than her neighbors and that I loved this place and LOVE Trump. And she had just sent a friend request that I accepted so you can imagine she is still thinking about how she can get rid of me in a polite manner, HAHAHA. But that is how dems think about their conservative neighbors which is why the scared majority won't speak up other than casting their ballot on November 5th. Interesting though was Virginia. First day of early voting the republican turnout was huge, the democrat less than half that. That is an interesting sign, because usually it's the dems who vote early en masse.

Dutch people, help?
Legal Alien replied to Rachel n Tyler's topic in Tax & Finances During US Immigration
I just got a reply from one of my mini pensions at Nationale Nederlanden, and since 2019 it is not possible to cash in your small pensions anymore. It will be once you turn 67 and 3 moths (or 83 and 200 months by the time we're there....) so all you can do is leave it and wait for the belastingdienst to annoy you. I didn't build much either, only 1700 bucks a year I believe because I cashed in the rest before 2019 so whatever 'aanslag' I am gonna get can't be that high. I did log in and made sure they had my new address and that my husband was added as my partner. It's not much and I doubt there will be any money left by the time I reach my Dutch retirement age, but I did pay for it and if something were to happen to me, at least my husband would get a percentage. I will send you a message for the shipping! -
Dutch people, help?
Legal Alien replied to Rachel n Tyler's topic in Tax & Finances During US Immigration
I contacted the companies where I have some retirement to ask for options. Looks like it might still be possible. If I don't get in trouble with the 'conserverende aanslag' I will definitely have them cashed. Thanks! -

You never got the 'conserverende aanslag'? When did you move? Cashing in retirements is not allowed anymore, or do they still do that when you move away? -

The Belastingdienst will send you a "conserverende aanslag" that you do not have to pay for the first 10 years as long as you abide by the Dutch tax rules. Here is some more information: https://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/bldcontentnl/belastingdienst/prive/internationaal/internationale-belastingregels/conserverende-aanslag-bij-emigratie/ https://www.jongbloed-fiscaaljuristen.nl/emigratie/actueel_emigratie/conserverende_aanslagen/ https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conserverende_aanslag https://www.belastingdienst.nl/bibliotheek/handboeken/html/boeken/FISIN2019/fiscale_informatie_2019-te_conserveren_inkomen.html So I have not seen anything yet, but from what I gather you file your takes for 2024 (or 2025 maybe in your case, not sure when you leave?) as someone who moved abroad during the year and somewhere a few months or even years later you get the 'aanslag' that you do not have to pay as long as you abide by the rules. I guess I'll see, my pension is not very great since I cashed out a bunch a few years ago when that was still allowed. Maybe someone who moved a while ago can give more information on what they got, I'm following. Your AOW will be lowered as well depending on your age and your work history. They look at the 50 years before your AOW age and you build up 2% a year, so in my case they started at 17 and so 3 months and I worked every year full time since then until my date of departure so I built up 25% AOW. Congrats on the VISA! Was not as scary as you thought, was it? Or was Frankfurt not as great as Amsterdam maybe? If you want to bring a lot of stuff with you (I highly recommend to bring as much as you can, it will make you feel at home!), then let me know. I shipped 3 pallets for under 1500 euros back in April. -
i-129f Address Question
Legal Alien replied to Fwafy's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
My husband filed for the I129F petition when we were both still living in The Netherlands. He left a month after filing to get settled after living in The Netherlands for 9 years and so we were apart until I got my Visa and was ready to move everything to the USA, about 18 months later. We also thought the K1 route would be quicker. Looking back I would have chosen the spousal route instead because it probably wouldn't have taken that much more time all together and I would have avoided the AOS stress. In my case it's not a big deal to wait because I do not need to work, travel or drive and I saw AOS is going pretty quick here overall in Michigan, but I would not go K1 again if I had to do it all over. Mostly because it becomes like you're here temporary because you can't actually take part in everything yet. BUT to answer your question in case you do want to go the K1 route (and there is really nothing wrong with it), my then fiancé put his father's residence up as his mailing address in the US and I put my parent's address as my mailing address. Just because those two addresses were going to be safe. So if you have family you could use for your mailing address, that's an option. -
In Amsterdam back in January it was listed as required, the the I-134 and the supporting documents. They asked for it and they kept the copies for my file. So no, not for filing the I-129F, but I would definitely bring all that for the interview, including the form for a joint sponsor if you need one.

I did, I requested my SS# on my I-485. I entered the US in April, got married in June and filed for AOS on July 3rd, My I-94 expired on July 6th I believe. So not sure how long it is going to take but I am in a position where I do not need it right away so I don't mind waiting. The whole 'hurry up and get your SS# before marriage and then apply for a new one in your married name' looked like too much of a hassle for me so I decided to do it this way.
