Not sure why you feel so attacked here. The 'feel better' comment was a little uncalled for. If you post a story like that on a forum you can expect people to warn you now that you are in another relationship with a foreigner from a high fraud country. Maybe I am weird but you and your new girlfriend have only been in a relationship online and only for a few months. To me that would not be enough to risk getting myself into a similar situation. Hence why I said I would make sure to spend time in this relationship before committing to anything. But if you think it's valid to yell at me for that, please be my guest.

Very sorry that happened to you. But instead of worrying about what USCIS might think, I think you should be the one this time to scrutinize this relationship and spend a lot of time together before you get yourself in the same situation. Good luck.

Family/Friends unsupportive
Legal Alien replied to Bunninuts's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
You assume their political view based on 'F off'? You have no a-holes in England like that? I know you do, I have met some who act just like that when I visited England. Yet my memory of the British is that they are lovely people and very polite. We have a bunch of those a-holes in The Netherlands as well. But just because you had your feelings hurt once or twice (that's life) doesn't mean you can generalize the majority of the American public. Trump's support in the USA is huge, so are you having issues with at least 1 out of 2 people here then? If not, you are generalizing. The only time I felt unwelcome here in the States was when one of my new neighbors thought she had to warn me in a private message about the area I moved to and that the people were scary, kinda like the same rhetoric you are now using. Little did she know she was insulting me and my husband personally. She knew a few minutes later though. I think she thought she might finally have a leftist neighbor. Oh the disappointment! So I am not even a native English speaker and I have zero issues in Trump land here. Maybe it's your own attitude? -
AOS interview
Legal Alien replied to yothisisandrea's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
I think they pick the biometrics location closest to you. If I will have an interview I will have to go to Detroit, but my biometrics appointment was in Grand Rapids, which is quite a lot closer for me. -

Better start packing then. I am in a VERY RED Trump-supporting area and people are amazing and very nice. You are in a VERY BLUE city with an Asian, immigrant mayor and you feel unwelcome. Maybe it's the wrong side you're attacking. just saying. -

Sorry but you really need to educate yourself more on this topic, your comparison with Hitler is not only ridiculous for so many reasons but also very dangerous. I am disgusted by comments like this and I am actually baffled that these types of comments are allowed on this forum. -

Wow. Just wow. I won't get too much into politics either but this is just absolute BS. As a legal immigrant you should NOT AT ALL feel unwelcome. In fact, Trump marries legal immigrants before he deports them. I really wonder if you hear his own words in context. I am more afraid communists will take over in 3 weeks, then we're all hosed. At the OP: you can't make everyone happy. People who live in Europe have a complete different view of the USA than what is actual reality. The media in The Netherlands was just as biased as it is here but the lack of real Americans there to balance the BS made some of my 'friends' make certain comments as well. I am very into American politics since forever so I was able to explain why their view was uninformed. Some changed their minds, others didn't. But I am not moving here for anyone else, I moved here to be with my husband and to have much better opportunities here. I don't care about anyone's opinion on the matter. I have plenty of opinions on their life choices and I am not voicing those either. You should think about YOUR life first. And if you want to move here, no one should stop you with their political views. I agree, I am baffled at how uninformed people seem to be. -
I had the same, my petition approval was extended without me doing anything other than sending in my DS-160 and make an appointment for my interview. I believe I had to send in some stuff also (short memory not working right at the moment I guess) but your fiancé should also have had a letter from the embassy. My USC husband got an email that had instructions also. Did you get any of that?

Europe is not a smart move. In the Netherlands it's bad, so much crime due to the immigrants who claim to be refugees (many coming from countries which are safe but they get lots of money and housing so they come anyway and just sit out their procedure) so real refugees will get the same treatment from most of the public since no one knows who's genuine and who's faking it. I would stay in Turkey honestly (even if it's just for the food and the weather LOL).

I have seen multiple allegations now. But honestly the die hard leftists don't care, they will vote for them anyway because they want to keep using abortion as birth control. The rest is already not voting for them. It just depends on how much they will be able to steal. I thought it was interesting Trump rallied in CA, that means he thinks he can win it.

JULY 2024 AOS FILERS
Legal Alien replied to The journey's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
I have a feeling the vaccine waiver does not take much extra time, if any. A year during covid sounds positive in my ears, I hope I can expect my GC soon! -

I don't think a vaccine waiver on religious grounds would require lots of documentation other then your own well argumented statement and not being vaccinated recently. I've seen a lot of success stories as long as the belief is genuine. I never needed any vaccine waivers for anything for example. I did add statements from others because I could, but should not be necessary because your beliefs can be genuine without other people vouching for it. A year is quite long but if it was during covid it was probably quite quick. Was that similar then to the I-485 approvals without waivers? -
Yes both, but turns out also about 0% black and likely not even half Indian. It's a rabbit hole! Candace started digging because people started slamming Janet Jackson for saying that she heard that Kamala isn't 4even black. It's episode 70-79 (episode 70 somewhere halfway it starts) and she is still digging. This week she's on vacation, next Monday she will do more. If my conclusion is right from Candace's research then Kamala wasn't born on US soil at all. What an October Surprise that would be...

JULY 2024 AOS FILERS
Legal Alien replied to The journey's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
She filed I-601 as well? For what reason and how long did the approval take? -
If I were a USCIS officer and you would file with this story and get married first trip, it would be huge red flags all over for me. My first intuition would say 'green card marriage'. Doesn't mean it's true, but it certainly appears that way. If I were you I would follow the advice already given and meet multiple times for longer periods before getting married. An online relationship is not the same as living together. I would never marry and sponsor (you will be financially responsible) someone I had never met in person. That just sounds strange to me and I bet also to any USCIS officer. So spend the money on trips instead of a divorce!

Hey, when you're that worried and you know your relationship is legit, watch that 90 day fiancé season with Danielle and Muhammed. They got approved and for me 1000000000000 alarm bells went off within 2 minutes of seeing them. So if even they get approved, no need to worry when you are in a genuine relationship. The USCIS officer who approved that must have been very gullible! And 18 months? That's long! My parents got married after 6 months and are still married 46 years later. Don't care about what others think or say. If it feels good, go for it. As long as you can prove you two have met and there is no red flags. I don't see it being denied. I Think you might worry a bit too much, chill!

This is a big issue imo. You do not need the vaccines for the K1, they should just have you do the full medical in the US when you adjust status if CS's here refuse to just do the vaccines when you have already been checked. I called here to have a CS check the box that I was not getting vaccines and would file a waiver and even for that they wanted to redo the whole medical I JUST HAD. I then decided to just file the waiver right away instead of I-693 with my AOS package. What is the use of a civil surgeon in your home country approved for your visa by the USA (mine was an American doctor) if they don't seem to trust their colleagues here at all? I do not take any vaccines, but those who do want to take vaccines might not have enough time in between to take all the vaccines needed for the complete DS-3025. It's completely ridiculous that CS's here make them redo their full medical. They know you will have to do it because you don't wanna have to leave the US. So it's a money grab in my opinion. That said, I did read that there are civil surgeons who will complete it, but if you have to take a plane to get there or spend hundreds of dollars in gas you might as well have the whole thing again.

JULY 2024 AOS FILERS
Legal Alien replied to The journey's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Congrats! I didn't file that one, only I-601 and I-485, so I am going to assume both will be approved at the same time. No idea how long it will take but I did see some cases that went quick (4-5 months total) so I have hope. -
My husband and I were together for years when we filed for K1 but never take pictures of anything. We do not believe it to be important. We sent in 1 together and 1 from a family dinner with my parents and brothers and that was it. I mainly provided other evidence, in our case proof he had been registered and living at my place in The Netherlands for all those years and our joint tax filings. So if you have enough evidence that the two of you have been together and have a real relationship, there is no reason to worry.
