Hello everyone, first of all thank you for reading this and for your answers in advance!
So, I am a US citizen, got married last year after 9 years of relationship, me and my wife have a 3yo baby. I've been residing in Peru for the past 5 years, but we have decided that it's time to go back to my hometown in the US. I'm about to receive a job offer for a decent, but not quite "well paid" job. It will start in 1 month from now, so we're starting to plan the moving. My wife is Peruvian, so we're planning on doing DCF in the Lima consulate. The issue is that we don't know how long this process takes. I don't know if I will have enough time to go to the 1st interview to file the I-130 for my wife, before I need to go to the US and start my new job. Like my wife and kid can stay here for the whole process, but I know I have to be present for that first interview.
Has anyone here been through DCF in the Peruvian consulate? Could someone share their timeline please? 🙏🏽
Like, I would like to know how long it takes for the embassy to reply with the approval for DCF, and how far out they schedule the actual I-130 filing interview once you confirm you have all the documents ready.
Thanks a lot!
