  1. @M and Mike They having the passport doesn’t really matter. I’ve seen instances where they keep the passport for over a year. My husband needed it for other purpose so we had to request it back. I’m positive if they’re ready to issue the visa, they’ll let us send it. They still have our marriage certificate and the divorce decree. When we submitted the inquiry, they said they don’t require any additional documents and we don’t have to do anything again. But as at the time, the review on our case is still ongoing. I have a feeling they’re trying to confirm the authenticity of our marriage or marriage certificate since we did not get married in London but our home country. Thank you 😊
  2. @M and Mike I had an absolute divorce decree which I submitted. I submitted an inquiry to the embassy and they responded that our application is going through a review. At this point, I think it’s more than just the divorce decree/certificate. The embassy said they can’t tell how long the process is going to take so we requested for the passport so whenever they’re ready to issue the visa, we’ll send it back to them.
  3. My husband attended his CRI visa interview at the London embassy on November 16, 2023 and was placed on AP. He was asked to submit the original copy of my divorce certificate/decree. The embassy received it on November 24 and the case updated on November 30. It stayed like that until he sent an inquiry on Jan 8, 2024. This morning, I checked and the last update was January 16, 2024 with the case still showing refused. I’m so frustrating and don’t know what to do or who to contact. I don’t know the London embassy to be having backlog so I’m wondering why ours is taking this long. They still have his passport. Has anyone been in this situation before specifically with the London embassy? My entire Christmas break was a mess due to this situation.
  4. @appleblossom I hope you find this useful since it’s not coming from google lol and compare both processing times @appleblossom
  5. @appleblossom it hasn’t been approved. I used OP for person whose question you answered The person only asked about it on 1/1/2024. That’s @caler355but anyway, I will leave you to believe what you believe. Have a good day!
  6. @appleblossom I agree with not trusting google but it’s not true that the approval timeline for all immigrant visas are the same. Take for instance when a US citizen files for a sibling, it takes about 10 years to get approval, then you wait at the NVC for additional 10 years or so. If the timelines are the same as you say, why hasn’t OP received approval when everyone else whose petitioner is a citizen received theirs even though they filed at the same time? It’s been 3 months since they all received theirs. On google search, the timelines for USC is 10-14 months which is accurate. Mine took 11 months to approve. Why would the one for GC holders be wrong?
  7. @appleblossom It does make a difference. The I-130 approval timelines for green card holders and USC are different. It’ll take between 22 months and 33 months for the green card holders to be approved. You can do a google search on it.
  8. @caler355 The timeline for green card holders filing for family members are longer than US citizens filing for family members. According to google search, it’s currently between 22 to 33 months for the I-130 to be approved.
  9. @BLCHow long was your husband in AP for? How long after the embassy received the document was his visa issued? My husband has been in AP at the London embassy for almost 2 months. We submitted the document( divorce decree) they requested and the embassy received it on November 24, and we haven’t had any updates since November 30.
