  1. @DC58 Yes, my husband did pay extra I think £21 to have it delivered.
  2. You do need the booster if it’s been more than 12 months since you had the vaccine. If the medical officer said you needed it, then go ahead and get it. My husband had to do same in May before his medical exam was complete. He had to pay £100 to get it at a private facility.
  3. If you previously had a 1 or 2 dose series of a vaccine, you are covered. A booster is a seasonal vaccine for your own health. USCIS covers this answer as follows: It is actually required by the UK embassy to get a dose within the last 12 months. My husband had to get it even though he already had 2 doses in 2022.
  4. @dwheels76 She knows about the ban if she leaves the country. The mother is the only one currently in the US and she couldn’t file her citizenship because she spent 2 years in Germany. She’s waiting to qualify to file under the 5 year rule.
  5. @Crazy Cat The father was a green card holder when he petitioned for the mother. While the mother was waiting overseas, she had her daughter so she received her visa and joined the husband while the husband petitioned for the child. Somewhere along the line, they moved to Germany while the petition was in progress at the NVC and it was eventually cancelled. Now, the mother and child have moved back to the US after 2 years of being away. So she wants to begin the process again and this time with the mother as the petitioner. The child is 9 years old.
  6. So my friend, who’s a green card holder came to the US with her daughter on ESTA from Germany. She has stayed in the US for almost two years now. My friend initially was advised by a lawyer to wait until she becomes a citizen before filing for her. However, yesterday she told me someone advised her to start the process now because it’s her daughter, she’s allowed to adjust her status a permanent resident. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  7. It’s always best to submit the tax transcript instead of 1040 and W2s. Those can easily be forged.
  8. Why didn’t you add them to your wife’s petition when you did for her?
  9. @M S Khan Yes, visa was issued last month May 23. Thanks for asking.
  10. @Deejee That’s good to know. Congratulations to you!
  11. @Deejee My husband was at the London embassy on November 16, 2023 and was placed on AP. In our case, they required original copies so we had to mail them. There was another lady who had her interview a day after my husband did at the same embassy and she just had to upload her documents on CAEC just like yours and she was approved in about 6 weeks after the interview. For us, I think they wanted to do more review or investigation on our case so it took 6 months before the visa was issued. So in conclusion, each case is different. It might take days, weeks, months or in some instances years. It all depends on your case.
  12. @Lee Thacket Yes, they delivered it last Thursday. Thank you asking.
  13. You’re not supposed to sign your DS 260 form by yourself. It’s written that you sign it in front of the consular who will interview you. Unless, I did not understand your question correctly.
  14. I actually changed mine on the day of the ceremony. When I went for my interview, I told the interviewer and she made it happen. I took my oath and received my certificate the same day of the interview with my married name.
  15. If I were you, I would reconsider bringing a 17 year old with such a record to the United States. His behavior is going to worsen once he gets here. Don’t take that risk. Good luck to you!
  16. @appleblossom I thought they required an ID or something. I don’t think the guy even made the attempt because the same guy once delivered his passport when he requested it from the embassy while in AP even after he rescheduled but anyway, I’m glad he was able to speak to someone. They have scheduled it to be delivered tomorrow so hopefully, they get it right this time around. All the reviews I have read about the company online are very bad. I don’t know why the US embassy is still using them.
  17. @appleblossom thank you! My husband finally got through with someone at the courier company and she said the delivery driver for the past days has been lying that there was no one home whenever he tried to deliver the package. Meanwhile, my husband has been home since Monday waiting for the delivery. He hasn’t been to work since Monday.
  18. @appleblossom Monday was the initial delivery date. We waited the whole day but they didn’t show up. On Tuesday, it said the package is out for delivery but still wasn’t delivered, then today, when we tracked it again, it said it’s out for delivery but no one showed up. It’s like every day, my husband keeps waiting for someone to show up.
  19. Hi, Does anyone have any experience with the DX courier service in London? My husband’s visa was issued last Thursday and we received an email about his passport and documents delivery from the embassy on Friday. When we tracked the package, it showed delivery date as Monday. However, it wasn’t delivered. It was understandable because Monday was a holiday. So we expected it to be delivered on Tuesday but still they didn’t show up. Today, Wednesday too they still didn’t show up. On the website, the date and time keeps changing every day. We tried to call the numbers on their website but just some automated voice talking. Can anyone with experience suggest anything else we can do. This package has all the original documents my husband took for his interview and were kept there because he was in AP for 6 months. Just when I thought all is over and now this.
  20. @KMG I can’t really tell. Sometimes, you will know based on how the interview goes. Sometimes too, they just want to do their background checks to know the authenticity of the marriage or even the certificate. It could be anything.
  21. You can never tell how long it may take. My husband was in AP in London too but ours is a marriage based visa. After 3 months of waiting, we requested for his passport back. At a point, we thought they had forgotten about us. It took 6 months of being in AP before they contacted us for a new medical and his passport. You can’t do anything but to wait. They’ll contact you when they’re done with the background checks. Good luck to you!
  22. @CodeRed If I were you, I would apply for the citizenship certificate for the child first before applying for a passport. You need to file form N-600 for his certificate. I’ve seen instances where kids who got the passport without the certificate were denied certain privileges or even couldn’t renew their passports because they couldn’t show proof of citizenship after they became adults.
  23. @Ontarkie you seem to know a lot about these issues. I need your opinion on this issue. My husband has been in AP with the London Embassy for 6 months. Initially, they kept his passport but we requested for after 3 months of waiting. When we sent an inquiry through our congressman, they said the Application was under review. Now, 2 weeks ago, my husband received an email to redo his medical since the initial one had expired. He was asked to email them after he’s done with the medical. He went ahead to get it done a week ago and sent an email to the embassy through the same email address he received the message. There has not been any update on CAEC since the medical was done and he hasn’t received any instruction to submit his passport. Do you think the email was not read or received? Do you think they’re done with the AP or it’s just an automated email to update his medical? We’re so confused.
