Passport is with us, given back at the end of interview with 221g. Asked to send it to them later on. and I think they only send the passport back if you ask for it? But if you didn't, must be that it's approved with visa and CEAC is slow

Didn't for us this morning despite the consulate's reply, weirdly. and tas, seems our timelines are 2 weeks off of each other, so hoping my wife and I hear something good in the next couple weeks. I'm hoping the best for you!

That's what I understood too, yeah. Fingers crossed! Thank you, it's encouraging 😭🙏🏼 What's interesting is we didn't get a "case last updated" update on CEAC today despite the reply.

After almost exactly 2.5 months from being given a 221g to submit a CV, we finally got an email from them (as a reply to one of ours asking if they got everything and if there's anything else they need) saying: "We acknowledge receipt of the documents you have provided. This case is currently pending review by a consular officer. As soon as the review is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing the case. " We assumed that it was a name hit for security clearance, we're wondering if others had similar experiences with a similar reply and if approval is around the corner, or does this mean they haven't even initiated the security check because an officer hadn't reviewed it? Thank you in advance, this is such a dumb process. Still hoping we won't get a 5535 after it's already been nearly 3 months since our interview (Nov 9, 2023).

Ranting... officially 7 weeks in since submitting a CV at the request of the consulate following a 221g, and nothing. UGH.

Where did you get the 8-12 weeks from? I've been reading that it's supposed to be 6-8 weeks (but I'm fully expecting longer), just curious to hear if others have reported timeframes in that range of 8-12?

Do you mind elaborating on if your AP was for the DS5535 or just missing docs/other? also- it's best if you're in Canada for this

Has anyone involved congresspersons in this matter? Are they able to force a reply from the consulate/DHS?

Blah. We've crossed the 6 weeks mark last week, and so we're dangerously approaching the 8 week point. I guess we'll keep our fingers crossed and hoping for the best.. Not sure if IR1 is any different from H1B, but it is what it is.

Do you know roughly how long it takes them to get through it then? Would it average to "within 60 days" like the consulate says on their site? EDIT: Reading it can be processed in 20 business days, or within 6 to 8 weeks, so maybe that will be the case... can only pray.

Hi all! My spouse had her IR1 interview at Montreal on Nov 9, 2023. She is in the TAL list and was given a 221g refusal. Later that day, we were told to submit a CV/resume. This was all submitted and confirmed receipt on Nov 28, 2023. We were NOT given a 5535. It's now been 6 weeks since receipt of documents (or their last communication). Every email we've sent we got automated replies/unhelpful responses. The last update was Dec 18, 2023, where it was just an email reply. Does anyone know when we could expect approval or further information? Her medical expires in April 2024, based on receipt of it in October 2023. We were given back the passport, as a "courtesy" since the holidays were approaching, according to the officer. (She is a Canadian citizen, born in China, working in medical sciences.) Thank you for any timeline input 🥲
