That actually makes sense.... It would track since they're saying it just needs like a "sign off" from the officer. What's strange though is they've told us that on Jan 23 (and case updated that day), and since there's been a couple unsolicited updates, but no email. You would think when they review it, they'd do it all in one shot, to just finish it. I guess not. This whole process is beyond illogical. No order, no reasoning, no transparency.

It's interesting because we used to get the second update where it's just under AP, but recently (as of Jan) had them say pending review (or in the queue basically). I wonder if the wording really does mean anything. Those stuck for many many months, do they ever get an email saying pending review or is it always generic? Curious if we can extrapolate a rough timeline from when a reply says pending review to approval.

Got another potentially unsolicited case update date change today. Still unsure if it's due to having the congressperson/senator inquire for us (we heard from the congressperson on Feb 1 that they'll be reaching out). I assumed they'd have to wait for an email reply back or something, unless they have a direct line. Anyone have experience reaching out to representatives and seeing their case last update date change?

When was your last case update date change on CEAC? I had sent letters to my senator and congressperson, and just heard back from the congressperson that they sent an inquiry on the 1st of Feb, so wondering if the Feb 2 update we got was due to them inquiring. But it adds up to the dates changing a week ish apart regardless, seems we may be close potentially. Your case and ours are very similar, curious to see if there's movement on your end too.

Just sent a request to my congressman (democrat). Doubt they can do anything, but in a weird way I'm hoping the government exercises an audit on the consulate for being the way it is. There's no way it's working as intended. For records sake: interview on Nov 9, 2023 221g refusal asking for CV only, passport returned at interview been waiting ever since (we assume Mantis clearance/SAO needed)

We had a last updated change on the 23rd (2 days ago) after an email reply. Today, with no email, got another status update on the case last updated, but status hasn't changed from "refused". Is this a good sign?

We were also given a 221g. on it there wasn't anything specifically mentioned other than "mail passport when asked to" to them. the officer said we'd get an email with a request and the same day we got an email asking for only an updated CV. we've sent that in for a while now.. no need for DS5535 for us, or additional questions, but still waiting

Oh god..... I'm sorry here I was being optimistic.. was there a gap period between sending the CV and when they asked for that info? Seems like it's a security check based on what my gut tells me. EDIT: just saw your next post, yeah they gave us the passport back on the spot, I guess knowing that it can take "however long". Interesting you were asked the additional info and the CV at the same time - we were only asked the CV. Hm.
