  1. Hi, My husband and I are in the same situation. He is a Canadian citizen (born and raised in Pakistan, living in Canada for over 10 years). I am a US citizen. His interview was on December 22nd,2023 and was given a 221G white slip in which they requested only his passport. He sent his passport on December 23rd. His interview went well overall but he was told he will have to go through admin checks, and that it will take two weeks. Date has been updated 3 times since then but no update since Jan 4th. Our visa class changed from CR1 to IR1 since we passed our 2 year marriage mark in November. He's been denied entry a couple of times at the U.S. border due to application being in process, likely why he's in admin processing. Hopefully his visa is approved soon.
  2. Hi thanks for your response. No, he was not given a DS-5535. I forgot to mention, not sure if it matters though, it's a marriage visa. His visa class changed from CR1 to IR1 recently, perhaps because we passed our 2 year marriage mark on Nov. 27th. The date was updated again today, so I am hoping there should be something positive soon, considering they asked for his passport in the 221G form.
  3. Hi there, so my husband(Canadian citizen) had his interview at the U.S. consulate in Montreal on December 22nd. Overall, the interview went well, however he was given a 221G white form in which he was asked to only submit his passport and nothing else. He was told by the officer that they need to do Admin checks which will take two weeks. His visa status keeps saying "Refused" but the case is being updated(date is changing) It seems hopeful that they are working on our case if date is changing but I am also worried, could this mean they have denied the visa? They are likely doing admin checks due to a couple of denials at the border due to visa being in process. It could also due to him being from Pakistan or being born there(I have heard they do checks on Pakistanis, especially men)
