Hey everyone, has anyone here tried applying for a student permit to Canada while in the CR-1/ IR-1 process? Did you get the student visa? We applied for our US visa at the beginning of the year. We are looking at at least two and a half years in this process, going by what people from my country under the CR-1/IR-1 category have had to go through. In the meantime, I was thinking of advancing my education and Canada is the right pick given it's proximity to the US. My husband is a US citizen and so by living and studying in Canada, we can be close and the travel will be less brutal compared to travelling across the seas. Should I even mention our USA immigration process in my Canadian study permit application? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, My husband is American, and I am from Kenya. We filed our CR1 in February of this year and from the look of things, we could be looking at a wait time of up to three years to get an interview with the Nairobi embassy. This week, we have been discussing the possibility of transferring our case to the Bahamas or another country that has a digital nomad visa since we both work remotely. My question is, has anyone here tried transferring their case, and how easy is that? Do y'all think it's worth trying? Also, has anyone here done their interview from the Bahamas, and if so, how is the wait time there? Thanks in advance.
