  1. My fiancée is in Gen Santos City, Philippines. We are early in the process, 129F received, receipt number. I was looking ahead, I see a request for an immigration record. She mentioned it should be available, should. My questions are, maybe more for her, is it hard to find a replacement copy? I imagine a process. How important is this record, at the medical? The more important thing, does the USA require shots that likely have to be added? Yes I did see some type of at least recommended immunizations for USA entry. I thought if needed, we could start now. One last thing, I have read about not passing the lung X-ray the 1st time. With that comes mention of taking a broad based, OTC antibiotic. What is the name of this antibiotic? I realize the next option is to involve a doctor. I’m just trying to stay ahead of preventable 3 week to 2+ month delays as able, thanks.
  2. ‘Front loading for Peru’? I’m not an expert, sorry, but doing the 129F it seems to me one fills it out as the detailed instructions dictate, Peru or wherever. Nothing wrong with sending more than the minimum, pictures, proof of visit, etc.. With the visit last year, do you have enough for a completed 129F now? I’m not talking frivolous, but the requirements for properly filled form? I ask because after filing the timeline isn’t short, you could start clicking off weeks & months. One needs to print off the instructions for the 129F, with the form, and start. Hold the signature & date(don’t forget) until completion. The complete package, in the folder takes time, collecting info. Back to ‘front loading’, I hear talk of a little extra with a package, not sure have different Peru could be.
  3. If it will count anyway, the 129F, and you have the door open to a little more evaluation, may as well leave it go for now. I am not sure exactly when the filed 129 is counted, answer may be above. There will be plenty of time in coming months to stop the process.
  4. My track record isn’t that long, but I can relate.
  5. Sorry about it all. I can see that happen though, better now than a few years down the road.
  6. ‘Utah zoom’ , ‘consummation’ ??
  7. Covid vaccine mandates seem so yesterday. Say one got a shot with a booster over a year ago, likely no bearing on anything to do with Covid now. Not saying a particular embassy wouldn’t have a mandate of sorts, seems easier to just require a mask. So far I haven’t seen anything close to a vaccine mandate.
  8. I’m kinda new here also, my 129F just arrived at the lockbox in TX. First off, go to the 129f guide/ link and look at the instructions then read the guide slowly & carefully. It’s all there, I printed the instructions then went over them carefully. With travel ahead of time, kinda depends. Most of us can leave the USA, harder for someone to come & visit. I would do a link, pop ups seem out of control on this site. If an I-129f is what suites you, go to the site, print form pages with instructions & start the process. The 1st order is to get the 129f sent off properly, to TX. After that you can read about the next steps. It’s best to do it as the instructions state, to avoid a request for further info. https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f
  9. Print off all the instructions pages then look over them slowly. It will tall you what you need.
  10. It’s not everyone, many are supportive. Most cautions come from those that would have zero experience with the process & doing so. Just yesterday I related a few of my plans to a work acquaintance, they went on to tell me about a family member that was taken advantage of with a ‘love scam’. I’m not just off the starting blocks, I’ve seen incipient untruthful events develop, steered clear. Of course I can bounce that off others that are in the middle of longer term success with a foreign born spouse. No I’m not about to change any actions, yes, romance scams are common. Look at recent events in Columbia, anyone should use due diligence. In a sense it can be like ‘throwing the baby out with the bath water’, to discard something real while trying to protect yourself from a scam. I understand this audience, many in the visa process to bring someone over. I just wanted to relate something I hear fairly often. I imagine others hear similar from family & friends.
  11. I admire your efforts.
  12. Toronto & NY?? You’re so close, it’s like being just down the street. At least you can see each other often with minimal effort, likely the same time zone to boot.
  13. NOA, notice of action, I got that. What is the ‘2’ for or mean?
  14. If things get confusing, order a Little Sumpin from Lagunitas until you sort it out. I realize there are endless options with local breweries, of which I like many. A local, popular IPA is a great bet, if not sure, a Little Sumpin will carry you over.
  15. A little older, but I wanted to throw this out. I went through the divorce process just over a year ago, long term marriage. My overall experience went rather well, but I was on high alert for the ‘false’ domestic violence ’ charge. Part included me having the digital voice recorder going as needed. I even called 911 when the ex was drunk, pushing me, trying to get me to hit her. I don’t know the posters exact experience, but I have heard advice from ‘divorce coaches’. The false DV charge is real, for many.
  16. I think a ‘marriage broker’ is much more arraigned than meeting on the average website. I think most of us started off on a website, then went to private communications then eventually a meetup. Even if it was of the Tinder type, still not a marriage broker.
  17. My I-129F gets mailed tomorrow, to Dallas. I have zero criminal history, certainly don’t expect any fast track. I just want to get it in & start the timeline.
  18. I was just looking a few weeks ago, I thought the Nebraska center was the quickest. It may vary on what’s trying to be accomplished.
  19. https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f You mean like this info? The form and instructions on the USCIS website?
  20. A 1:55 could easily get tight, getting any bags, Customs & Immigration lines, then through security again. One little fact could be the airline then the next destination. With many there could easily be another flight 3 hours later, first one missed.
  21. Thanks everyone. My trip over starts Jan 5th. I think I have the info to collect all that I need to file.
  22. I was watching a video about the 129F process, I see the author had several other forms along with it, ‘biometric’, ‘electronic notification’, likely others. Yes, I will reread the instructions carefully. I’m not talking about copies of documentation so much, passports, birth certificates etc, more so printed off government forms. I am a regular U.S. citizen, nothing out of the norm. Before I look again, anything else go in with the 129f form. She’s in the Philippines. I can handle the pictures, proof of meeting, all that.
  23. CR1? I thought the 129 was better than getting married in a foreign land?
