Signature on receipt applies to only courier shipments as that address is an actual desk AT the lockbox which is manned by a person.

My guess is you are stuck in USPS limbo as they cannot comply with your requirement to have someone sign for your package.

I'd call the number on your shipping receipt and confirm it was actually signed for and by who and then you can add that to your email inquiry to the Lockbox.

We shipped everything to the address listed on USCIS website. The package was delivered and actual person signed for it. So we already add and email everything to our inquiry. Hope we'll get some updates soon. But thank you so much for all the advices! this forum is really helpful

Non receipt of receipt notice inquiries are sent by email to the Lockbox.

Check out the USCIS Contact US webpage for details.

sorry I meant email. We sent it to lockboxsupport yesterday (May 30.) All what we know for now that somebody signed up and picked up our package (it was part of our delivery)

  3. Hello everyone!
We applied for AOS at the end of April. Still no updates there (other than it was delivered)

I got my Social security card back in 2022 when I was here through W&T program. But since we got married I changed my name. Can I change my SScard now with my new last name on it? or do they issue me a replacement when I get my work permit?

It is very frustrating and seems like I'm stuck, because I have no documents with my new legal name.

I'd appreciate all of your answers and advices! Thank you

  4. Hi! I was in the same situation (my parents were not married by the time when I was born), so I have an adoption papers too. I listed my moms last name in the petition too. With the I-129F petition you don't need to professionally translate this documents. I did it all by myself and just add another paper said that I have enough knowledge and abilities to translate it and that says in this papers is true. (did it for my birth certificate and adoption papers). But later for the interview you need to bring the certified translated copies of those papers. That what I did.

Does this mean that we also should hire third party translators to legally translate it all into English? If so, should each and every foreign word be translated? Or only those parts that make the most sense and meaning?

I think you can provide your own translation for this evidence too

Plus you’re facing a risk of not being let out of the country when you exit on your K1

yeah. that what I thought. They might ask me this. It wasn't mentioned on my interview, but they sent me some instructions with package with my passport. Thanks a lot. Seems like I have to do this first before leave the country.

Prepare to hand in your national ID whether you do it abroad or in the country.

Do you mean my Udostoverenie? I should hand it before I leave too?

  6. Hi everyone! I received my passport with my K-1 visa and an envelope yesterday. But I also got some further instructions that said that they recommend me to get "Permission for Permanent Residence Abroad" while I'm still in my home country. This paper would take me almost another month to get done..and I planned to go in the middle of March. But if it would cause me problems later, I would rather wait and do it now. Maybe somebody had experience with that too?  And do I absolutely need it? Or I can do it later through my Embassy in US?

  7. you just need to read more info about K-1 and K-3 visas. there are specific requirements for each of them. based on info you provided, you might do it either way.

Fiancé visa required at least 1 personal visit within 2 years, but also if you could prove that it would be impossible because of the religious beliefs, you would be fine.

Otherwise Spouse visa make some more sense (in my not professional opinion only), because of your religion and it gives you more “space” with immigration process.

    Hi everyone!

    Happy New Year!

Hope all is well... So, I know it has only been almost 2 months since we got our NOA1 and now I am getting paranoid bcos we arent doing anything...

so please clarify to me once again that this now a waiting game and we just have to keep our chill and hope for the best that we get our NOA1 soon, right?

bcos if we're wrong and we should have been doing something else and we arent that i am gonna lose my mind 😅

    Thank you!

Hey! You probably meant NOA2? since you already got NOA1 (that they received your petition). But yeah, no worries, you just need to wait now. You also can check the updates on your case at USCIS website (my fiance did it for us, so I'm not sure how it all works)

  9. Hello everyone!

I’ve read a lot about this, but couldn’t find the answer. I currently prepare all the documents for visa and still not sure do I need the apostle on my police certificates or not. I read here that apostle needed the you want to use certificate in the country where you go. But does It a requirement for K-1 visa? Maybe somebody had resent experience with the Embassy in Kazakhstan?
