Happy new year to everyone and I hope everyone is doing well. I have a question in regards to the petitioner's address information. I , the petitioner (USC) recently moved to a different state. I know for a fact that when my wife is interviewed by the embassy, she will be asked the address or location where she will be living when she immigrates to the US. And the immigration agent will likely be expecting that she mentions my original address. Which are written in all of our USCIS and NVC related documents. How do go on about updating my address between USCIS and NVC? My hope is that my wife can truthfully answer all questions pertaining to me and us living together. Thanks all,

So at what stage does one apply for the green card/ssn/work permit? I don't think that the immigrant visa (CR1) covers this part of the process...right? This step is not clear to me. I'm on the process of moving to a different state, so I was planning on sending the i-485 form once I have settled at our new place. Unless the CR1 application already includes the permanent residency/ssn. Also, I've seen some posts where the beneficiary is given their green card/ssn at the port of entry. Is this correct? and how does this work? How would immigration know the immigrant's port of entry ahead of time? Does immigration require the immigrant to fly into a pre-determined port of entry? I usually depart from or land on whatever International airport Expedia directs me to. lol

Greetings to everyone here! My wife's CR-1 application was recently DQ'd by the NVC. We were very excited to see that things were starting to move along until now that we're just finding out about how slow the Manila embassy is with scheduling interviews for CR1 visas and the like. Anywho, to everyone that might be auto-expedited in the next few weeks/months, I wish you all the best of luck and hope that you can be re-united with your special one(s) just in time for the holidays. Here's our timeline: October 2022 - Married in the Philippines December 2022 - I-130 received by Nebraska Service Center October 2023 - I-130 approved (California Service Center) November 2023 - NVC Documentarily Qualified We are just also finding out that there are a few more requirements for all emigrating Filipino citizens: Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) and a Travel Tax. The Philippine gv't really doesn't make things easy, eh? Is there anything else that we should be aware of? On top of all of this, my wife and I had our first child this summer. The US passport for our child has already been issued and we seem to be half way with SSN application process. Looks like I'll be checking this thread pretty often for any updates or movement.
