  1. I saw on an earlier post about finalizing documents that you were going to bring a family tree with relationship to fiance/fiancee. Did they not accept it or something? Or is this different from the spousal relationship evidence form.
  2. Do you remember the questions they asked you and your Fiancee? And did they allow you to be next to your Fiancee during the interview? My Fiancee and I have been so stressed over this. Lots of blue slips at HCMC Embassy.
  3. @TD6886 Currently trying to schedule an interview at the consulate! Thanks, Yung! Hope all goes well!! Besides a Family Tree and a Relationship Timeline, are there any other evidences that you recommend we bring? Seems like the HCMC Embassy is a super pain currently and impossible to please if one did not frontload the I-129F petition with everything that they want.
  4. Hi! I am trying to schedule an appointment for August/September for my Fiancee (K-1). Does anyone know if there's a specific time when slots open up? (for ex: I've heard 12 p.m. noon Ho Chi Minh City time), and will they even have slots open that far out (Aug/Sep). Or are slots usually only open up to 30 days ahead at most. Also, how often do new time slots usually open up? I've also heard there are a group of ladies that sit around on their computers all day taking up slots. Thank you so much!! - Tony
  5. Any updates on this @TD6886, were you eventually approved after submitting a Family Tree and other evidence? Not sure what other evidence the Consulate wanted.
  6. @armadillo321 Hi, It should be "Immigrant Visa", then "K-1 Visas - Appointment Scheduling", "K1- Fiance/Fiancee....." and follow the next steps. You do not select "Register Delivery Address - only".
  7. Yes, you and your brother would need to each have their own I-134s, with supporting documentation (IRS Tax Return Transcripts, W2s, 1040 Return Forms, Employment Letter). I heard that it is up to the Consular Officer whether or not they will accept a Joint Sponsor or not so I am also a bit stressed out about it as well. Good luck!!
  8. Hello, we just received Packet 3 and my Fiancee and I are stressing out (we had no idea it'd be this fast). Besides updated letters of intent to marry, Relationship/Family tree, Ho Khau family book (not sure if this still exists), and a detailed Chronological/Relationship Timeline and evidence of on-going relationship (chat logs, gifts, money order slips), are there any other evidences we are missing? Those seem to be the most common blue slip denial reasons. Also, for the Family Tree should we also include both deceased and living members? Nhi does not remember most of her family's birthdates and names. Most people in Vietnam put 12/31/Year as their birthdate and death date since recordkeeping for older relatives is difficult.
  9. Thank you, @tnkim! My Fiancee just received her Packet 3 Instructions this early morning!
  10. Thank you so much @Liam2021! I was worried sick since my fiancee's semi-rural address rarely receives any mails, letters, or packages delivered to them. As for passport delivery (in the near future), there should be a way for her to pickup at the post office somehow?
  11. Should I send an inquiry to have them reach out to me through Email to receive Pkt 3? Since I don't have an address registered for them to deliver it to my Fiancee. Do you know if HCM Embassy sends Pkt3 by email or by physical letter? If it is a physical letter, then I would need to figure out a way to register my Fiancee's address without the need of the DS-160 confirmation code, unless the Embassy is just using her address that is on the I-129F application to mail it out. It's a semi-rural address and her house doesn't have a house number plaque.
  12. Hi @Liam2021, yes but I was told to wait to receive Packet 3 before applying for the Visa. The instructions on USTravelDocs requires a DS-160 confirmation code (from the Visa application) in order to continue with registering a delivery address.
  13. Now am I being told to wait to receive Packet 3 first before applying for the Visa, DS-160, but USATravelDocs says I need to register an address first (which requires the DS-160 confirmation number). 😵‍💫 I am also going to try to ask this in the Vietnam forum to see if anyone else has figured out a workaround.

  15. Hi @MalloryCat, K1 is not an option on the Non-Immigrant Visas. Instructions seem to say to go through with the "K1 Visas Scheduling" option but upon trying to do that, it asks for a DS-160 Confirmation Code to be able to register address which I obviously have not applied for the Visa for my Financee yet since we haven't received Packet 3 (but need to register an address for the embassy to deliver Packet 3). It's been a Catch 22 situation.
  16. Hi, I received my letter from the NVC and am trying to register my Fiancee's delivery address so that she can receive Packet 3 for the instructions on applying for the Visa, Pre-interview checklist, and appointment scheduling. I am currently stuck on the first page as it asks for the DS-160 Confirmation Code, but we have not received Package 3 yet so we can't apply? Have any recent Vietnam K-1 applicants figured out how to register the Fiance/Fiancee's home address for Package 3 delivery? Do we follow the instructions and complete the DS-160 before receiving Package 3? Thank you!
  17. Hi @MalloryCat, I saw on your timeline that you received your Packet 3. What was your solution to not having the "K1 Fiance" Visa Option on USATravelDocs to have the Packet 3 be delivered to Fiance/Fiancee? Thank you!
  18. Has anyone figured this out? There is no K1 option for us as well.
  19. https://www.ustraveldocs.com/vn/vn-iv-kvisa.asp Does anyone have an answer to this? I followed the instructions, and after selecting "Immigrant Visas - Address Registration Only" the K1 - Fiance Visa is not an option on their list of Immigrant Visas.
  20. No, because if your fiancee manage to get the K-1 Visa, the expiration date on it will be 6 months from the time medical examination is done. Try to get the medical exam done as close to the interview date as possible.
  21. Is there an option for the K-1 (Fiancee) Visa on the USTravelDocs website? This is for the Immigration (IV) Visa option. Thanks!
  22. @jetsetter21 Hi, so it's still at the discretion of the Consular Officer and not 100% guaranteed that they will renew?
  23. Hi, I have an NOA2/I-129F approval on April 18, 2024 but I plan to visit my Fiancee in September to show up for the K-1 Visa Interview at the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Consulate in September. Because the NOA2 will have expired by then, how likely it is to get the NOA2 extended by the consulate officers there? Is it based on luck or do they periodically extend the notice if we send in a request before it expires? Also, how does one go about doing this? Thank you!
