  1. Applying for adjustment of status for a K1 visa and wondering if I should write the A-number on all the pages of the I-864, I-765 and I-131. Seems like a good idea in case some pages get separated somehow, but not sure if its allowed on the actual forms where there is no designated spot to write it or where is best to write it. I am putting it on all the additional evidence I am sending. Anyone have any experience with this?
  2. Trying to get a definitive answer on whether or not the entire series of a vaccine is required for K-1 visa AOS, or if just the initial dose .. and also who if anyone is currently getting an RFE for not having a flu shot ... My fiance (27 yrs old) got the initial doses only of Tdap, MMR, Varicella, and Hep B on 3-8-24 at St Lukes in Manila, and they marked that she had "voluntarily completed vaccine requirements" on page 2. We want to apply for adjustment of status within the next few months and wondering what exactly is required by USCIS.
  3. Curious about the typical timeline lately for CEAC status updates after being verbally approved for K-1 interview in Manila. We got the "Approved" status 24 hours after the interview, and now waiting for the final "Issued" status. Anyone with recent experience?
  4. Some are saying that its a good idea to have the original, at least for the Philippines. For example, last year there were reports that the divorce decree with wet signature was required by some, but then others gave only a copy and it was ok. So we just want to be safe.
  5. I am sending the updated Letter of Intent to Marry, I-134, Letter from employer, Divorce Document (certified copy).
  6. For speed and security sending documents only to the Metro Manila area, DHL, FedEx, or UPS? Please share your experiences!
  7. So it seems I made a big blunder sending a lot of original documents to my fiance in Manila via USPS as they hand them off to Philpost which is notoriously unreliable. If she doesn't get that package in time (or at all), it seems she can only present photocopies of things like my paystubs, tax transcripts, W2s, etc. which fortunately I backed up. The only original documents I am providing her in my next package (sent DHL) are 1 paystub, I-134, signed letter from employer, Letter of intent to marry, divorce certificate (1 page - ordered recently w. official state seal). The rest will be photocopies. Anyone have any insight into whether or not this will be acceptable? Btw has anyone had any success sending via USPS priority mail (6-10 days w. tracking #) to Metro Manila in less than 1 month? I am still hoping she can get my original package of documents before her interview.
  8. We received our NOA 2 (K-1 Visa, Philippines) about 3 weeks ago and our wondering if and when we will receive a welcome letter from the NVC. Can anyone share their recent experience of how and when the NVC will notify us and give us a case number? Will we receive an email, letter, or both? Should we be notified when the NVC first receives our case or once it has been sent to the embassy?
  9. Wondering if anyone has gone through the CFO course for a K-1 visa lately and what are your experiences? Mainly interested in the types of documentation they will ask for. I am seeing sites reporting that my fiance may need to provide things like: 1. Affidavit of invitation and support (financial support/safety/medical insurance) written by the sponsoring spouse notarized and authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate which has jurisdiction over the destination or host country, 2. Declaration of undertaking of travel in letter format to include an itinerary of travel and how to ensure safe travel and stay, and 3. Letter explaining why the foreign partner cannot travel to the Philippines. Has anyone ever actually been asked for any of those above listed items. I want to be as prepared as possible, but do I really need to go find a Philippines Consulate to notarize a statement of support??
  10. Thanks for all the info! Hopefully we will be over prepared as you were
  11. I am convinced that these forms are made confusing on purpose! Here are the spots that were confusing and/or I got conflicting information about how to fill them out in the I 134 form (I am a U.S. citizen filling out this form for my fiancée K1 beneficiary living in the Philippines). If anyone has had success filling out and submitting this form yourself, please share! Under the sponsor's financial information in part 3, do I list myself as a dependent or not? (I have seen both 1 and 0 listed for people who have no dependents besides themselves -- which is correct?!) Under my fiancée's (the beneficiary) income in part 2, under "relationship to the beneficiary", should I put "beneficiary" for my fiancée? (who I am agreeing to support). This part really makes no sense. It seems I am supposed to list my fiancée as the "beneficiary" of the beneficiary and not "self". The way I understand it is, it should only be "self" if no one else is supporting her... right? Under "anticipated length of stay": I am leaning toward estimating an arrival date and with "no end date" selected. Part 4: I am feeling 90% sure this is all N/A if the sponsor (myself) filled out and signed the I 134 for the Beneficiary to bring to the K1 interview Under "intent to provide specific contributions to the beneficiary" I am marking that "I intend" and then saying that I intend to provide full financial support with no end date -- with specific contributions in part 8, room and board, food, medical etc. Anyone do anything different? I putting N/A in pretty much every single spot that I have no information to fill in -- seems safer than leaving something blank even if its acceptable in some places.
  12. I think I have a pretty good handle on what we need to do after we get our NOA 2 approval for our K1 visa (Philippines), but I am wondering if someone who has been through the process recently could put these items in exact chronological order, (and let me know if I am missing anything): Receive NVC welcome letter Submit DS 160 Pay MRV fee Schedule Interview (it seems my Fiancé must do this online and is not automatically assigned a date) Schedule Medical exam Attend Interview Schedule CFO Course after visa is in hand (AOSG is not required to leave the country for K1 visa as far as I can tell)
  13. Wow that is much quicker than what I have been hearing about fixing the birth certificate! What evidence/documents were required for that? Did you have a lawyer help you?
  14. Thanks for the tips! Were you able to get an original baptismal document or a copy of it -- or did the local parish make you a new certificate?
  15. Interesting, was yours a K1 visa? I am wondering if there is a different standard for K1 visa vs. CR1 or IR1... or maybe just depends on the officer and/or their feeling about the person.
