    I moved to the United States as a permanent resident just over five weeks ago. I paid my green card processing fee long before getting here. When I track my green card progress, it simply says that I’ve paid and I will receive it once I have entered the country and waited up to 90 days. I appreciate I am of course not at the 90 day mark, but my passport is expiring and I want to renew it. I unfortunately cannot renew it as it has my visa in it which I need until my green card arrives. Could I please ask, those of you who have made the move recently, how long did you have to wait? Thanks

    I had my psychologist write a quick letter explaining what my anxiety was, my symptoms and then explained that I wouldn't cause harm to myself or others. The doctor at the medical asked a couple of questions but said the letter covered everything. Wasn't mentioned in the interview.

    Thank you for this, it’s as I suspected then. Yeah stupid things like the link to where to pay the immigrant fee was wrong, the cost of the immigrant fee was wrong etc. My American wife did the opposite process for moving to the UK a few years ago and although still stressful, was 10x easier to navigate.

    So my IR-1 was approved at the London Embassy a few weeks ago, and I am flying into Boston in two weeks. I am a UK Citizen. When I get to the airport, do I head through the US and Canada line? Do I expect to get through as quick as I normally would with an ESTA? According to the handout that came with my passport when it was returned to me, I have to pay for my immigrant fee (which I have done) and then when going through immigration I am apparently given a form to fill out and send off to get my permanent residence card / green card. Some of the other info on the sheet has been incorrect so I just want to make sure this information is still correct. Thanks

    I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t visit your husband, just expect extra questions at customs and make sure you have proof of a job, residence etc. Relationship evidence, I am not sure what to suggest, as we submitted ours during the I-130. I doubt they would DQ you if they didn’t think there was enough evidence. Maybe bring things to the interview just in case. I was DQ’d end of March, got my interview letter end of April and I genuinely am sat in the embassy as I write this waiting for the second part of my interview (June 17th). I think August is going to be tight honestly. Of course visiting will help, and I suspect they will ask you (and myself shortly) how often you visit. Nobody here or on reddit has mentioned ever getting a medical waiver for our visa type as far as I can see. Although the medical is expensive, I was in and out the door there in 45 minutes and that was with an extra injection.

    You can view my timeline, but we sent our I-130 application on the 5th November 2022. My interview at the London embassy is the 17th of June, so less than 3 weeks from now. It took 476 days for my I-130 to be approved, and we had been married and living together in the UK for two years at that point, together as a couple of 7 years. Generally the I-130s have been quicker recently, but estimate around a year for that alone.

    How was your medical? How long were you in there? I’m currently about to walk to Selfridges and hang out there for a couple of hours before heading over to my appointment. I hate blood tests so I’m not too excited to go ha.

    Is yours for IR/CR1? I was DQ’d 3rd April, so just over 2 weeks before you. My IL came in 25th April so I am surprised you have had nothing yet. I have my medical today funnily enough, and my interview in 3 weeks.

    For what it is worth, I think they send the letters out individually. Mine didn’t come until early afternoon.

    Yep correct, this matches up with the response I have just had from Visa Medicals in London.

    Hi all, I am 27 years old, so firmly in the 18-64 category on the vaccine requirements page. I feel like I am missing a decent chunk of the vaccines however so just want to make sure I am looking at it correctly. https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/pdf/Vaccine-Requirements-According-to-Applicant-Age-p.pdf My understanding is that at my age, I require: - Td/Tdap (YES, substitute 1-time dose of Tdap for Td booster; then boost with Td or Tdap every 10 years) - Measles, Mumps and Rubella - Hepatitis B - Varicella (but this isn't available in the UK?) - Covid 19. Td/Tdap: I got 3 DTP, Polio and Hib vaccines before I was 6 months old in 1997. Then a Booster for DT in 2001, then Revaxis (Low dose diphtheria, tetanus and polio) in 2011. As that last shot was 13 years ago, I require a new booster for this? MM&R: I received a first shot in 1998 at a year old. Then, a booster in 2001. I believe that means I am good for this? Hep B: No record of this at all. From a Google search this is something I will need to get from a travel place? Varicella: Not available in the UK? Covid 19: Last shot was Jan 2022, so I will need a private dose for this? Thanks so much!

    So if I track my case at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx, it says "At NVC" in bold at the top. Presumably then that means I won't be getting an IL this month? I was only DQ'd just over a week ago.

    Might be a silly question, but is the interview letter digital and sent via email / the messaging section? Or is it a physical letter that will be sent to my address?

    So we got the DQ notice through today. I am expecting to receive my IL in May based on others posts. In the meantime, I am trying to anticipate what I’ll need from my GP. I have my vaccination records, and will be requesting a patient care summary. Pre-Covid, I was on medication for Anxiety but I stopped requiring medication and checkups towards the end of 2019. Should I be requesting a separate letter from my GP specifically about the anxiety? Thanks

    DQ’d today, 3rd of April. I am trying to guestimate when I can expect my interview. From reading other posts, I am thinking around June. Does that seem sensible? Also, do I need to wait for my interview letter before booking a medical? Or can I book that in now? Cheers

    Hello, thanks for reading. My wife is a US Citizen, and I am a British Citizen. We are applying the consular route for a US Spousal Visa and the I-130 has been approved. I have completed DS-260 and we are currently taking a look at the I-864. My wife lived in the UK with me until from April 2021 to November 2023 when she moved back to the US. For tax returns for the year 2023 which she has completed, she has well over the financial requirement for a household of two due to income earned in the UK, however the W2 specifically has less than the requirements earned in the US due to not being there that long before the year ending Dec 31st 2023. She stayed with the same employer when she moved, they just transferred her from their UK office and payroll to their US office and payroll. We have letters from them stating her salary, role etc and her importance to their business as well as confirming her moving from the UK to the US arm of the business. When I first move to the United States, I will be moving into her parents house before we can purchase / rent our own home. This allows us if required to use my father-in-law as a joint sponsor. Considering the information above, should we apply just using my wife's income, or apply using both of their income? Ideally we don't want to use my father-in-law due to making things more complicated, but if we have to, we will.
