  1. Thank you. I am not too concerned about the time to process. I just want to know they received my packet. As you may have experienced, the packet was about six inches+ high in paperwork. It took a while to put it together for AOS K1/K2. Plus, a medical check because the one for the K1/K2 was not conducted properly i.e. did not give the needed vaccines that the US requires, we went ahead and conducted a green card medical exam. Those envelopes are sealed and I do not want to go through that again.
  2. I sent the AOS packet and it was received on the 9th (Chicago). I have not heard anything. I included the form to receive any updates. Is this cause for concern?
  3. I did submit two I-130's. I received a letter for each one. This cost me $1,200, and I did not have to submit an I-130 for my situation. Are these figures correct? I-485 $1,440 for the principal immigrant and $950 for a child under the age of 14 applying with a parent. I-765 - $520 x 2 = $1,040. I-131 - $630 x 2 = $1,260 I-865 - $0 Total of $4,690 I believe there is a charge for biometrics that needs to be included.
  4. Yes, unfortunately, I submitted an I-130 for both when it is not required because they came on a K1/K2 visa.
  5. I have not located an AOS for August 2024. Is there someone that starts this tread? Thank you.
  6. Thank you all for the information. On the I-864, I have my wife (K1 visa) as the primary immigrant and my stepdaughter as an additional family member (K2). Do I need to fill out (2) I-864's, one for each? Also, if I need to complete (2) one for my stepdaughter, would I complete a form where she is the primary immigrant and not include her mother as an additional family member? Lastly, if two I-864's are required, do I need to include a copy of my taxes, my passport, birth certificate, and SSN for each I-864? Thank you.
  7. Would submitting a letter explaining why I am canceling the I-130 help in not getting the situation confused? I do not want the process to take any longer than it will. I submitted the I-130 a month ago and I did receive an I-797C.
  8. Hello, I brought my fiance and stepdaughter to the US on a K-1/K-2 visa. We got married a week after entering the US. I was mistakenly instructed to submit an I-130 along with the other AOS. I submitted the I-130 online. I now understand that I did not need to submit the I-130. Now, I am about the send the I485, , I864, I765, I131. Should I send a letter to cancel the I-130? Thank you.
  9. Well, I made a big mistake. We got married a week after entering the US on a K-1 Visa. Will this affect anything from this point forward?
  10. Good question. Was I not supposed to submit an I-130 for a K-1 visa?
  11. Hello, I have a question about form I-485. My wife came on a K1 and my stepdaughter K2. I am filling out an I-485 for each one. I have already submitted the I-130 and received the I-797C indicating they received my documents. I received a letter for each person. In each letter, they have their own IOE number. On I-485, Page 4 - under Information About Your Immigrant Category. For my wife, the principal applicant, I applied her receipt number. However, for my stepdaughter's I-485, do I add HER IOE number in Part 2 #3? Or, do I leave it blank and complete the information for the derivative applicant? Thank you.
  12. What happens next? My fiance and her daughter are now in the US, and we had our marriage ceremony. I believe the next steps are to complete the I-130, I-485, and I-765. Is this correct? How much time do we have to complete these documents after we get married? I understand the fees come to around $4,780 (1 form for each person = 2 fees).
  13. Yes, I went through the US Citizen line and instructed the CBP officer that I am a US citizen and my fiance and her daughter are here on a K-1 visa. Everything went well.
  14. That's interesting because a 221g indicates they need more information or something is missing that they still need from you. Usually they say what it is and then people scramble to get it right away. But, if they did not say anything, not sure about the 221g.
  15. Hello, Can anyone tell me what the process is like when going through customs at the airport with a K-1 Visa? Is there another interview with the customs agent? If I am with my fiance, could she go in the line with me for U.S. citizens? Thank you.
  16. I take it most of the people here will not be in your situation. Most K-1 are coming from far away countries and will only be able to pack what they can into suitcases, which is my case. You will need to complete CBP Form 3299 for your household items. Please research this further.
  17. Yes, you will put in your 2022 tax return information. Then, you will use a copy of your 2022 tax transcript for the interview. You can also get a letter from your place of employment to state when you started and your annual salary. If your 2023 tax return is better than 2022, use 2023 figures. #13 You will place your name as they want it (First, Middle, Last), Your DOB, SELF, and then your annual income from your tax return. Below, for the total, put the number of dependents. If it is just you, it should be 0. If you have children or people you financially take care of, then you will put the number. Your total income will be the same as your annual income. In the next part, you will include your assets. Retirement, 401K, savings, house, etc. Whatever you decide to put down, you will need current documentation.
  18. I went to check the status on CEAC, and it is Approved. I did see this before. However, it looks like the next step is for the status to change to "Issued." There is also text below the statement that indicates that although it has been approved, it still needs to go through someone else. I figured the status should have been changed by now. Yesterday had been a week. It seems that even when it is approved, it's still not fully approved until the status changes to Issued.
