Don’t worry, you are extremely close to approval! Trust me, I was Oct 2020 and my Vawa was approved March 31, 2023. I also did not seek asylum nor was I in removal proceedings. My lawyer also did not apply for AP for me. I missed some serious and important events in my family’s life back home, for which I felt helpless and guilty. So I know how you feel, but trust me, you are close! Did you have any RFE’s along the way? Sometimes that delays processing. I had no RFE for my I-360 and only medical for my I-485. Take care

Hi everyone, So I checked my case status this morning.. inputting and refreshing the page, like I’ve been doing for years and it said “We ordered your card” “Case approved” like what??? 🙏🏽 I am still shocked and it hasn’t sunk in yet.. I guess when I get my papers from my lawyer and the actual card, I will be less shocked. I am so incredibly grateful 🙏🏽 Good luck to everyone who is still undergoing the process. where did you send your RFE medicals to? A field office is the USCIS office, where you live. They adjudicate the I-485 applications. My I-360 approval was from Vermont, March 2023 , but I was told to send my RFE medical to NBC Congratulations again! 🤗

Congratulations to you! My timeline is similar! What was your field office? My RFE medical was received by the NBC in July 2023 and no response since. I also applied to For Vawa oct 2020 and got approved March 2023. thank you!

So, I took the advice of some of you to make an infopass appt, to inquire about the status of my I-485..well, they say that they don’t have it and it’s still with the NBC. What in the world should my next step be? I really would have liked to go home this Christmas, it’s been 9 years .. I’m so sad. It feels like this is never going to happen. My lawyer says that it’s a pain to reach the NBC Any advice? Or should I just go crawl into. Big hole I’m so tired. Thanks everyone! this is my timeline again.. Yeah, cheaters can also be abusers! Especially Narcissists.. but if all they were doing is cheating and treating someone well.. that’s more for divorce court, than for a VAWA Case.

Oh I know! It’s maddening!! I know that the VAWA unit is trained to sniff out fraud.. I just pray that they enforce it enough to deter people, without valid cases to not apply! Some lawyers should really be reprimanded for giving out false information! Cheating =bad marriage, not abuse! If that’s the only thing going on!

I agree with Priya. VAWA is a very time consuming, emotionally triggering process for those of us, who have suffered abuse. You will have to prove that your marriage was bonafide, which includes describing how your relationship progressed, from how You met to when you got married. You will have to write a personal statement, documenting the abuse and your relationship, including evidence. A letter from one therapist is not going to make your case. If you are honest about your situation, then we can help you, as Priya stated. It is not an “option” if your marriage doesn’t work out, based on other reasons.

Don’t lose faith, you are very very close. I also had 4 PF no RFE for my I-360. I applied sept 2020 and got approved March 2023. You are almost there!

My RFE medical was sent to the NBC. Customer service says that they can’t access any info on my case, so they don’t know where my application is. My lawyer told me to “try and call customer service to find out” so annoying. My FO would be Fort Myers, but I don’t even know where my application is. Thank you for your response

Can anyone help me with figuring out, whether I am within the processing time of my VAWA case or not? filed I-360: Sept 2020 Approved: March 2023 RFIE medical I-485 from NBC Lee’s Summit director April 2023 RFIE Response received June 2023 my lawyer Says that there is no way to get an update on my I-485 and has no idea where it might be.. that doesn’t sit well with me. Can anyone enlighten me as to how much longer, or what to expect next? I just want to visit home.. it’s been 11 years. Thank you

Hi everyone, I hope all is well... Newbie here.. I applied for VAWA in sept 2020.. got approved March 30, 2023 I received a RFE medical from the NBC, signed by the director in April 2023... I sent it back in June 2023 I haven't heard anything since... I can't get info via the contact center, because of Vawa protections. My lawyer said that we just have to wait.. Is there any way that I can get an update? or know what happens next? will I be interviewed at a filed office, or my file be adjudicated at NBC? it's been 5 months. Thanks everyone!
