Update: His visa was issued :))) Edit: It took 1 month and 13 days for his visa to be issued after the rest of the family had theirs issued. It is reasonable to assume that they sorted out the passport issue then.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Update: The Consulate sent an email asking for the AP applicant's (@Grey Wolf) passport even though we submitted it in August. This email was sent to the petitioner and the applicant. It was not in response to a query email. This is the USTravelDocs Live Chat for Pakistan confirming the passport was delivered to post. Here is the email they sent today: We would like to know if it is possible that they misplaced his passport. Also, this looks like a good sign to me.

I see. But considering we did a writ of mandamus suit, does that mean they must provide decisions on all our cases before the hearing? Our hearing is on the 20th of September this year so in a few days.

We have been in AP for years though (DQ in 2018, interview in Dec 2019), just that 3 of us got issued last week and one of us did not. I get that it can take additional months from this point as well but that does not make sense considering the issued visas expire in Feb 2025. But does USCIS typically do this in family-based IV cases? I.e. Cause families to separate their arrival into the United States from one another (forcing to leave member(s) behind during the initial entry due to lack of visa) If so I would love to learn more about it so if someone could point me to resources that would be greatly appreciated

It's been a week since the rest of the family received the stamped visas, but the refused applicant is still refused on CEAC with no change in status and minimal updates. By updates I mean when they open the case file and the CEAC shows a Last Update Date. Wonder what's going on. The embassy is not replying to emails either, despite timely reminders. The one AP/refused passport is still in embassy custody.

Hi guys. So 3/4 passports were returned with the stamped visas. But for the refused/AP applicant, the passport is still at the embassy. Is this a good sign that indicates his passport will be stamped soon? Do they tend to just return it unstamped otherwise?

Yup, Islamabad is an absolute nightmare of a consulate. We actually filed a writ of mandamus this June, which is the only reason 3 of us got the visas issued. Would have never reached this stage without the law suit.

Hiii, basically we already did a writ of mandamus. We filed the case on 19th June this year if I'm not wrong. Thats the only reason most of our visas got issued despite Islamabad being a horrible embassy. The final case date after they asked for extensions is 20th September, so 2 weeks from now. We're hoping they role out the last visa before that too.

Hello everyone Yesterday we learned that our case updated to "Issued" for 3/4 family members on our F4 visa case. (Details about our case below) The derivative applicant that is still "Refused" is the husband of the principal applicant. Using the USTravelDocs helpline, I confirmed that his case is refused for AP. However, we have received no further requests for evidence for his case. We were however asked to refill DS260s for each applicant on the case a day before the visa got issued. Today, in fact just now, we saw that our passports got dispatched. Upon further inspection we found out that the refused applicant's passport is still not dispatched. Please help us. We do not wish for a situation where one of our family members who happens to be a brain tumor patient gets left behind or has to suffer from delays.
