I just received my EAD and advance parole combo card, which is valid for 5 years. Wife has been threatening to withdraw I-130 and I-485 is pending. She has poked me with a knife 3 times, threatened to kill me, slapped me, and spat on me. I have not been home for few days, plan to get my own place, and start a divorce process. I was working on H1b visa but got laid off. I have a job offer and expecting couple more offers in the few weeks.
I want to self-petition under VAWA. If I file under VAWA, then can I work on the EAD I just received through US citizen wife's AOS concurrent filing or I need to ask the employer to file my H1b visa?
