  1. Hey everyone, yesterday I had my Oath Ceremony in Pasadina, CA (LA county)! I applied 89 days prior my 5-year GC anniversary and It took 3 months from filing the application till the interview + 5 weeks from the interview to the ceremony because I changed my name. I'm sharing my timeline here. Good luck everyone!
  2. Today I got my Oath ceremony invitation for march 5, 7:30am lol I had my interview on Feb 2 and requested name change in Los Angeles County (San Fernando Valley FO)
  3. I brought everything I could but the officer asked to provide only my ID, Green Card, Passport and the invitation letter. A lot of people are being asked to provide tax transcripts, so I'd recommend bringing them
  4. No, I moved to another apartment when I came back
  5. I had my interview today in San Fernando Valley FO. It was such an easy and pleasant experience, I didn't expect that! The entire interview felt rather a conversation. It lasted only 20 minutes. I answered 6 civic questions and that was enough. Then reading and writing test. Then the officer went through my application, asking to confirm my work and travel history (btw, one of my trips was 5,5 months long, no problems with that). Then he asked about my traffic ticket. I said that I had paid the fine and was lucky to avoid a point and he laughed. No proof was asked. The only documents he asked for were ID, Green Card, passports and an interview invitation, nothing else. I brought my application but wasn't allowed to use it during the interview, however my friend in LA FO was allowed to use his. So, just in case, you can bring the application and ask for permission to use it. I'm changing my name, so same day Oath ceremony wasn't an option for me. Now I have to wait for an oath invitation in mail. Does anyone know how long does it take when changing the name?
  6. Yes, it's very common. Estimated time is based on the average time it takes to get citizenship in you FO
  7. Think how many people have already successfully passed the interview and got citizenship! English is your native language, I suppose, so it's already easier for you than for most people😉 If you have paid your taxes and had no legal issues, you'll be fine! I'm having my interview tomorrow. Good luck to us both😊
  8. My case number starts with IOE939 and I've got interview date already. 5 year rule; California My advice is just relax. Once I accepted I was going to wait for months, I got the interview scheduled lol. There is no logic behind case numbers. Waiting time is quite random even for the same FO
  9. Some offices won't let you in if it's too early. I would arrive 30 minutes before the interview
  10. A small update: I received my interview invitation letter in the mail today. 10 days after the status changed in the uscis account. Just in case anyone is wondering about the time it takes to get an actual paper
  11. Hey everyone, I got my interview scheduled today! FO: San Fernando Valley, CA Applied: Oct 31 (5 year rule, 89 days earlier) Biometrics scheduled: Nov 3 Biometrics appointment: Nov 14 (early walk in) Interview scheduled: Dec 29 Interview: Feb 2 (first week after anniversary) Estimated time changed from 6 to 7 months lol
  12. @Romans13 Congratulations! One more milestone achieved. Oath ceremony in 2 months tho? Yikes Can I ask you if you make any changes to your name?
  13. I've reviewed several threads here and noticed that almost nobody has received interview scheduling notices in the past couple of weeks. Looks like the entire USCIS department is on vacation...
  14. Not exactly. It's possible to pass interview and ask to schedule the oath ceremony later (it can be months) and travel using Green Card until then @aneeth Call them, explain the situation, ask what your options are. Have the proof your father is in hospital just in case.
  15. That's totally fine, my friend applied in july and haven't heard from uscis since then. I wouldn't worry until at least spring
