  1. The American government has funded UNWRA with several million dollars so it seems a bit strange to criticise him for working for the organisation. He put it in his linkedin profile and, presumably, mentioned it as part of his university application Terrorism is not part of their mission.
  2. I will. Whoever has the misfortune to interview me will be in for a long and boring day
  3. Yes, if they have given material support to terrorism, but I was not aware that the UNWRA was a terrorist organisation. Mahmoud Khalil worked for the British government for four years so I assume he was vetted before and during his employment. I have just been looking at part 9, question 1 of form I-485. I listed three organisations, but wonder if I should have put more given how widely the question. Does forgetting to put an organisation you were briefly involved with twenty years ago mean you can be deported?
  4. I was a candidate in the 2010 General Election. I don't remember a discussion about cutting police numbers, though that is what happened in the following decade.
  5. Why do presidents choose who gets to be a federal judge or supreme court justice? Could a judge not be appointed on the basis of her competence rather than her political leanings? Would it help to have more supreme court justices?
  6. I used a joint sponsor for my K1 interview in London last May. It was really simple. I just submitted the form, a bank statement and tax return. No questions were asked about financial support. Perhaps I was lucky or possibly things have got stricter over the last ten months. What kind of assets do you have?
  7. Congratulations to you both. I am glad it worked out. Thanks for taking the trouble to come back and give an update.
  8. I found two clinics in Minnesota that would do the vaccination only section for, respectively, $100 and $105. In terms of $/per minute this is probably more lucrative for them especially as the doctor has to do very little.
  9. Continue looking for a civil surgeon to fill out the vaccine only section of I-693. I got this done back in January and I had no interaction with the panel physician. The nurse filled out the form and merely got him to sign it. In your covering letter for form I-485 remind the person looking at the your paperwork why you don't need a full medical. Put a second covering letter with the I-693 form.
  10. Are you sure she is covered by normal travel insurance? Normally they cover short trips rather than people who intend to immigrate.
  11. Brilliant news. Really pleased to hear that. Come back in a few months and let us know how you get in.
  12. She would been asked about her forthcoming marriage when she arrived in the country would she not? Wouldn't lying make her liable for immediate deportation?
  13. Divorce him, get as much money as possible, go home and hopefully find some one who respects her. It is sad that she does not speak good English after thirteen years in the country. Presumably her husband has not encouraged her to mix in wider society.
  14. First thing with regard to vaccinations get an immunisation report from your doctor to check what is recorded in your medical records. Unfortunately, my doctor had no record of my ever having had any childhood vaccinations. I was directed to have MMR, Tdap, Hepatitis B and varicella. The last one is waived if you have had a chickenpox. A number of other vaccines were deemed not to be age appropriate for me. As @OldUser says once you have your immunisation record contact the panel physician. They often offer you missing vaccines on the day of your appointment, but that will probably be more expensive than getting them from your own doctor.
  15. What has she been doing for the last thirteen years? Are there any children? Does the husband have any assets?
  16. I was not able to get the varicella vaccine in the UK. I have no recollection of ever having had it. My local Health and Human Services office gave me the varicella vaccine along with some others. HHS will usually charge less than a clinic providing immigration medicals. As from @From_CAN_2_US says the best option is get as many as possible done on the NHS.
  17. Did you prepare a covering letter? The instructions don't ask for one. For all I knew mine was discarded unread and thrown in the paper recycling cart. However, I found mine useful for helping me double check that everything I thought should be in the packet WAS actually in it.
  18. I would not just send in proof of those last two hep-b if you want to avoid a request for evidence. If I were in your position I would just find some one to do the vaccine only portion of the I-693. Put a covering letter on top explaining why you have not done the full medical. Let us know what they say.
  19. I tried doing that after I got some post-medical vaccines. I was told the form could not be amended after the paperwork had been sent to the embassy.
  20. Good question. I guess the framers of the post-war constitution, which included the British and Americans, had an attitude of "never again". Only two political parties have ever been banned. The German political system works really well. The country is generally rated in the top twenty place to live under metrics such as healthcare, freedom of the press etc. In terms of the post WW1 settlement I wonder what would have happened if the Kaiser had not been removed.
  21. I will go and set up my online account. I can then have fun watching the status change over the next few weeks.
  22. That is not good. Perhaps document things that are happening and complain.
