Hi everyone, Coming on here one last time to say I received my stamped passport on September 27th (1 week after it was issued). Best of luck to everyone going through this horrible process. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Below are all of the unsolicited updates leading up to the passport request/issuance. Since I filed a WOM my attorney was in contact with the US attorney and they likely pushed my case forward to avoid hitting the lawsuit deadline. Aug 21 Sep 3 Sept 6 (passport request) Sept 17 (medical received) Sept 19 Sept 20 (issued) I know it doesn't feel like it but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I truly hope everyone here gets their visas issued soon.

I did my original medical in December 2023, and it expired 6 months later in June 2024. I would recommend getting an additional Covid vaccine as this is a new requirement (must be within last 12 months) for all medical exams in 2024 onwards.

Does anyone know how you go about getting your passport mailed to your address when the visa is issued? I gave the consulate my mailing address and paid the fee at my original interview. Do we need to do this again? Didn't receive a link and I'm worried

I went with Hacking Immigration - would recommend. They said it's about a 50/50 chance that it moves the needle with the MTL consulate. They requested new medical, passport photos. I was told to let my attorney know when I've submitted everything so they can update the US attorney.

Congratulations!!! 🥳 So awesome to see people making it through! I'm in a similar boat - interview on Jan 10th, 2024 and was given a 221g/DS-5535. I'm considering filing a WOM, do you mind sharing what law firm you used? I wonder if quick approvals following a WOM indicate that the reason for AP was a TAL hit rather than a broader security risk? It seems like there's been varied results with WOMs and I wonder if that plays into the ability of the consulate to expedite. Just a theory!

I had a question about NEXUS... does anyone here have it? Yesterday I found out that my NEXUS application is in "risk assessment" and has not been conditionally approved (I applied over a year before my interview at the MTL embassy for my IV). I'm thinking I could have been flagged in the system way before the MTL interview and I wanted to gather more information on this theory.

I received a reply from the Montreal embassy today! I made an inquiry as to if they received my DS-5535. They didn't actually confirm receipt, just that my case was still under AP. This is the worst process, my officer told me he approved my application, took my passport to put the visa in and I flew home. 1 day later I saw the refusal status and they sent my passport back to me. I've been trying to stay off this forum as much as possible, I feel like time passes very slowly when I'm checking all the time (clearly not going well for me)..

Just curious- do you know the MTL embassy has been requesting more evidence in a lost of cases? crossing my fingers that it's a smooth process, my interview is in January and I booked a flight with travel insurance in case I need to move it back

DQd August 3 and got my interview date on Jan 10th!! Has anyone tried to register their appointment? It says my case number wasn't ready for an appointment online

Someone on this forum DQd Aug 1st and got an October IL - technically early August was the last cutoff, which is why the website says that. I DQd Aug 3rd and Im not getting my hopes up for an early letter sadly
