  1. For what it's worth, there's no packet. It's an email with a link to a site you can already get to. They probably do it this way to space out available interview slots. Gotta love being kept in the dark
  2. it's essentially just an email. nothing fancy, no physical letter. it was sent to ME and not my fiancé. that also may be something to keep in mind
  3. i think it was March 14th 2024 that they said it was "READY" on the portal site thingy to check the status. Just got the email today with the go ahead today. So about 2.5 months give or take. What's the validity date on your I-797? I think they may step it up a bit more when that date gets closer but i'm only guessing. I'd honestly probably wait a bit longer, but once 90days hits i would find your congress person's website. They help out with stuff like this and often have forms specifically for this issue.
  4. Purely coincidence. Checked my email this morning and it was there. I can only imagine it was sent because it was getting closer to the expiration. It looks like it took about two months from the time it was marked as "ready" before I received the letter (email). If it's been longer than 90 days I'd write a letter to your Congress person. After all, it's an election year and I'd imagine they'd be more willing to go the extra mile for their constituents. Of course it could lead to nothing. I'm just speculating
  5. Just received the letter!!! I'll DM you with my fiancees number to join the WhatsApp group. Thank you so much!
  6. Nah when trying to schedule online via the appropriate website there's a VERY explicit message you have to agree to that says if you don't have the letter, they'll cancel your interview when you show up to the embassy.
  7. I spoke to RapidVisa and apparently the best course of action is to fill out the DS-160 then open an account with the embassy based on the link they sent. then it's back to the waiting game
  8. So i emailed the embassy and got a canned response, however it basically says to go to this website and make an account. gotta love how it's referenced nowhere else i can find Thank you for your inquiry to the U.S. Embassy Nairobi immigrant visa unit. 9. any ideas on the Invoice ID #? I'm looking on the CEAC website and it will accept the case number but requires an invoice id number to actually login apparently
  10. Ok so here's the deal folks. According to CEAC, my fiance's application is marked as READY with the case last updated March 14 2024. I've done some research (which confused me further) and have found that some are saying we need to wait for an appointment letter, and others are saying just schedule it anyways without it. Embassy is in Nairobi and she's a Kenyan national, has never lived outside Kenya etc. Pretty cut and dry. Here's my questions: 1. Do we absolutely need this golden ticket of a letter? 2. If we DON'T, can we just schedule the appointment and proceed with the necessary documents etc? 3. How much longer should we wait before trying to get ahold of someone at the embassy for some kind of update? 4. Will I (the petitioner) receive the letter for the appointment, or will she? Thanks for any assistance!
  11. Thanks! That's pretty much what i figured. Nice to get clarity though, appreciate it!
  12. Just wondering, when do RFE requests usually get sent out during the visa process? Backstory - Got NOA1 on April 25, 2023, so it's been about 8 months. Still within the standard processing time, was just curious if an RFE usually tends to happen earlier in the process or it could come up at any time. I don't necessarily expect one because everything was filed to a T, but just want to be prepared in case it does pop up. Thanks!
