  1. You would think HAVING A BABY would help it along but I understand why it doesnt. This process is really tough sometimes I would start the adjustment process, you might not be able to work or leave the country, but at least you will be together. Im unsure how you would get all of your things from Canada if you cant leave the states. Do you have people who could help move your stuff for you?
  2. just found this: Looks like pregnancy is not a valid reason to get your case expeditied.
  3. Nothing is ever deleted on the internet... what reddit thread was it? Id love to snoop for it
  4. I have also taken this approach - you get a lot of generic responses HOWEVER, it shows the consulate that you are still invested, adnd still want to see a result. So many cases show up for interview and then they are never heard from again. Once an officer DOES look at your case again and can see that you have -professionally and polietly- emailed once or twice a month shows 1) that you care about this visa and you are still dedicated 2) that you are invested in their action/approval 3) and that there is an ACTUAL HUMAN on the other side of the case number. Emailing might not be a way to get your case looked at sooner, but it is definitly a way to show investment and care. Cant hurt, so why not?
  5. Okay good! Please let me know how your WOM goes, I will keep my fingers crossed for you . I know this is a stressful time but you and baby come first! Do what feels right ❤️ Congradulations on the pregnancy, what an exciting time for you both! I hope that you get to spend it together.
  6. Intent is established when you cross the boarded. If your plans changed after you arrived, this wont matter.
  7. Have you been emailing the consulate asking for updates? If yes, what have they been saying? Before abandoning your K1, maybe reach out and give them the information of your pregancy and ask for an expedite. The worst outcome here is they say no, and then you can go ahead and just get married. Montreal is currently taking about 10 days to reply to emails. I would also consult with a lawyer to go over the potential consequence of abandoning and applying for AOS. I feel your pain, also in AP for a K1 visa. My fiance interviewed in August and we havent heard much since.
  8. Thats amazing! Wishing you all the best in your interview ❤️
  9. Yes just be patient. Save everything and keep it in a folder you can reference at any time. Keeping the reciept of payment will come in handy if anything ever comes up. Wait 6 weeks and if you havent heard by then I would reach out to USCIS.
  10. Bring it! Hopefully that is an easy document for you to find, but in my opinion it is better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it!
  11. Today marks 10 weeks since interview and 8 weeks since we sent in 221g additional documents... Has anyone been approved after a 221g recently? How long did it take to hear back from the consulate? We had the "wrong birth certificate".... I hate to think he would be here with me right now if we had the right one on interview day.
  12. I waited about the same time frame but chose to email because they never told us they recieved his passport so I wanted to confirm. If emailing would give you peace, Id send one. It cant hurt to email. Your "case last updated" date will update on the day they receive your email, and they day they reply (typically ten days later). I think you are probaly just in the que to be reviewed, like me and Fayisa. From what ive found online it looks like the average review time for a 221G at montreal is 6-8 weeks.
  13. Yesterday, they replied to my email inquiring for a status update and said " We acknowledge receipt of the additional documents you have provided. This case is currently pending review by a consular officer. As soon as the review is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing the case. While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the Department of State are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete. " It took them ten days to reply. All we can do now is be patient. I know this sucks but we are in this together! The universe has perfect timing for everything, and even though this is hard, every day of waiting will make the victory that much better. We got this!
