Hello All,
I am soon graduating college after attending in the US for the past few years. My wife and I were married in May 2023 and we have been putting together all the paperwork for AOS (I 485, I 130, I 693, I 765, etc...) and I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions I have:
My wife is currently self employed and is unsure about meeting the income requirement, however, we have full financial support from her parents. Would it be sufficient for her parents to fill out a form I 864 along with our documents?
How long does it usually take to get an appointment with a civil surgeon? I am graduating this December and will have 60 days after my graduation date to finish filing the forms before my legal status expires, but I would prefer to finish this sooner rather than later.
As a Canadian, I am technically not on an "F1" per se, I just have an I 20 and an F1 stamp with no paperwork. Would all versions of my I 20 and my I 94 history + a photocopy of the stamp be all the evidence I need to demonstrate that I have maintained my legal status?
