I’m so confused. 😕 I really need help. My friend (the foreign fiance) wants me to act as a cosponsor for her son. Her interview is coming up very soon. When I fill out the I-134, the beneficiary will be her son, correct? The Petitioner is not required to fill out a form I-134 for the son? I just want to make sure I’m doing this correct. Thanks again for all your help

Ok. So my friend said that her fiancé made 45k on recent tax return. Based on the poverty guidelines, the petitioner can sponsor a household of 5 people, correct? This means they don’t need a cosponsor right? It’s just the US petitioner with no dependent, the foreign fiancé and her son.

Oops. Sorry for the confusion. It’s a K1 finance visa. I’m not the petitioner. My friend is the fiancé of the US citizen (the petitioner) and she has a son who is my God son.

Hi everyone I’m going to fill out the affidavit of support form as a cosponsor for my God son. The petitioner is signing the affidavit for his mom (the fiancée). question 🙋 Can I send scan copy of the I-864 to the embassy or does it need to be original with signature? Does the petitioner have to note somewhere that they are using a cosponsor for the child of their finance or do I simple fill out the form stating I’m the cosponsor? also, is it necessary for a cosponsor if the petitioner makes over $30,000 with no dependent? I want to increase the chances of my friend getting approved so would it help that I sign for my God since I make a very decent income with no dependents right now. FYI, I’m filing for my parents but with my income I will still meet the guidelines. Thank you 😊

Hi. For biological mom, the process should be simple. The most important document you will want is your birthday certificate; You will fill out form I-130 Petition for aliens relatives.

Is it ok to follow this thread? I filled in December 2023 for Mom and Dad; Doesn't seem as if much members filed in December. I filed on 12-12-23 and 12-18-23. I received notification for both of them between yesterday and today, that the case is actively being reviewed. Petition is at Texas Service Center. Good luck to everyone!😊

Just received notification that my mom case is actively being reviewed; the progress update also changed to 2 months. My dad case hasn't been updated since NOA.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing great! I am filing I-130 for both of my parents. However, I just submitted an online application for the first parent, now I am trying to submit the second application but the page continues to redirect to the case page. So, does this mean I cannot submit the application for both parents from the same account?

Hi, OldUser. Thank you. I am so concerned 😬 I hope not. My father has always been in my life; you never see one of my parents without the other. I understand that I would have to gather the evidence if i have to, but the thought it is so frustrating already knowing we did not live our lives building trails of evidence thinking one day I will become a citizen of another country and I would file for them.

Hi, everyone. I am getting ready to file for both of my parent. However, they have never been married but have been together over 50+ years. My Father name is on my birth certificate. Do I still need to submit proof of that I was legitimated by my father before my 18th birthday; showing proof of financial and emotional support?

Hi everyone. I’m not really new to this forum, I’ve gone through the K-via to citizen process but it’s been so long that I may have forgotten a lot of things along the way. So, here I am again. I am planning on filing for my Mom and Dad. I would really appreciate your help in getting started. I will also do my research and review the guide. 1. what is my first step, which form do I file? 2. I know the timeline varies, but for you know the average wait time? 3. will they get a permanent residency or a ten year green card on approval! I really look forward to going through this process soon and share my expletive with you all. Thank you! 😃
