  1. That's probably true that there are a lot of similarities between the two processes, but I thought it would be faster if I asked for help instead of taking the time to figure out exactly which parts of the immigrant visa pertain to my case and which parts do not. It's true that this link will be extremely helpful for me when we get to the medical exam step and for figuring out what to prepare for the interview, but I'm just trying to figure out when I'm supposed to be doing those things right now. And the website doesn't tell me about that.
  2. Yes, I've been to this website and seen this exact page. I couldn't find any information online about the timeline of when I should be doing things. And the information on this page is actually for immigrant visas, not non-immigrant visas like the fiance visa, which is what has been making all the online information so confusing.
  3. I don't know the difference between a consulate and an embassy, but I'm assuming the one in La Paz, Bolivia.
  4. Ah ok, thank you. And does the embassy email me (the U.S. petitioner)? Or do they send mail to my foreign fiance?
  5. I just got the K1-FTP email from the NVC. They said they would now send our application to the U.S. embassy in my fiance's country and that it would take a couple of weeks. Should I get started on the DS-160, the police records, and medical exams now? Or should I wait for the embassy to message me before doing anything? Here is what the NVC's email said:
